The Father Knows Best... Week of January 27, 2019

Jeremiah 6:16   King James Version (KJV) 16  Thus saith the  Lord , Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Dear Friends, The prophet had declared previously that a great national calamity was imminent. He instructed the people to stand and seek advice as to what direction they should move in. He proclaimed the Word of the Lord: Stand ye in the ways and See and ask for the old paths where is the good way and walk therein They were given good advice but they rejected it and chose to go their own way. The Father knows best .  God gives us directions that are for our good.  This is true even when it hurts.  Proverbs 3 tells us to trust in the Lord and lean not unto our own understanding. Why?  The Father knows best. We are told in the Word: Be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. Why? The Father knows best .  We

I Feel My Help Coming On... Week of January 20, 2019

2 Chronicles 32:7-9a King James Version (KJV) 7  Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: 8  With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the  Lord  our God to help us, and to fight our battles.  Dear Friends, Have you ever felt like you were backed into a corner and there seemed to be no way out? Have you ever encountered an enemy so foreboding and manipulative that you lost courage? Have you ever been too tired to sleep or too hungry to eat?  The last question sounds contradictory perhaps, unless you have experienced it.  Let me be transparent: My answer is yes to all of the questions. I am a Christian. That doesn't make me perfect.  You know that already.  I am a Christian.  This does not mean I am never afraid.  I am a child of the Most High God.  T his means that no matter what, I have help to meet any challenge.  During those times when I have

Nevertheless... Week of January 13, 2019

Psalm 106:7-9   King James Version (KJV) 7  Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. 8  Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. 9  He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. Dear Friends, As with the children of Israel, the Lord is patient with us. They did not understand the magnitude of God's blessing.  Or if there was understanding in some instances there was not sincere appreciation.  The Lord God delivered them from bondage.  He parted the waters for them at the Red Sea giving them safe passage across dry land.  Their enemies in pursuit drowned. God delivers us from bondage many times over the course of life. Sometimes we see the dangers and sometimes we are totally unaware. Nevertheless, God is compassionate. Lamentations 3:2

Stick With the Script... Week of January 6, 2019

2 Timothy 3:14-16   King James Version 14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures,   unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Dear Friends, Praise God for allowing us to see another year. 2019.   Lord how shall we proceed?   Continue thou In the things which thou has learned AND Hast been assured of KNOWING OF WHOM Thou has learned them Continuing on in the Lord, following Him and growing in Truth means sticking with Script. Stick with the Word of God.  Do not rely on opinions, yours or others.  The bottom line is what does the Word say about it? And That from a child Thou hast known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salva
