Now To Him That Is of Power - Week of May 26, 2019

Romans 16:24-27   King James Version (KJV) 24  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 25  Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26  But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 27  To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. Dear Friends, Now to Him that is of power, the Lord Jesus Christ.  There is no power apart from the Lord.  In Him dwells all the fulness of God.  Power. Jesus is the Power. The Psalmist declares: God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. - Psalm 62:11-12 Power - the definition: Power  comes from t

Holding Pattern - Week of May 19, 2019

Philippians 2:14-16a   English Standard Version (ESV) 14  Do all things  without grumbling or  disputing,   15  that you may be blameless and innocent,  children of God  without blemish  in the midst of  a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine  as lights in the world,   16  holding fast to  the word of life... Dear Friends, Sometimes we find ourselves in what may be called a "holding pattern."  The cliche standing alone may sound inconsequential. However, when we view it through the eyes of God's Word, the relevance is startling.   We are reminded in the second chapter of Philippians to refrain from complaining.  We are told not to grumble.  Yes, the Lord knows what we say under our breath.  We are instructed to be innocent.  Plainly speaking: stay away from the drama.  Cease and desist with gossip.  The Lord wants us to be innocent and blameless, not like those who enjoy stirring up trouble and confusion.  This is only possible if we maintain

Reminded of a Mother's Love - Week of May 12, 2019

Romans 8:38-39   King James Version (KJV) 38  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Dear Friends, When I consider the words in Romans 8:38-39 I am reminded of a mother's love.  The love of a mother is a child's first introduction to God.  The womb our first home.  Sanctuary. Sustenance. Security.  I am reminded of a mother's love.  As such I am convinced that nothing can separate us from the strength of that love.  A loving mother will go to great depths and extend her reach beyond her comfort zone to aid her children. I am reminded of the sacrifices of my own mother.  There were times when she did not eat so we could.  She worked hard to afford us the opportunities to pursue our dreams. I am convinced and I am thoroughly persuaded

He Is the Lord - Week of May 5, 2019

Isaiah 43:9-11   King James Version (KJV) 9  Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth. 10  Ye are my witnesses, saith the  Lord , and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11  I, even I, am the  Lord ; and beside me there is no saviour. Dear Friends, God can be trusted.  God does not lie.  He is the Only One.  He is God the Almighty.  He is The Lord. The burdens we bear, He tells us to cast on Him.  The challenges we face, God said, there is nothing too hard for Him to do.  He is The Lord. The rages of the wicked can be calmed by the Holy Spirit.  Peace be still occurs at The Word of God.  Jesus Christ.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He is
