Behold the Beam - Week of June 24, 2019

Matthew 7:3-4   King James Version (KJV) 3  And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4  Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Dear Friends, Often times it is easy to look at the perceived faults or shortcoming of others. It can be easy to cast blame and point fingers when we put on our self righteous posture.  Self righteous posture...it is a dangerous place to be.   Looking beyond the faults of others becomes more natural when we first work on ourselves and consider our own shortcomings. Behold the beam.  The beam or in our own eye can be large.  That is exactly why it can get in the way of our seeing clearly our own shortcomings.  Self examination.  I pray that the Lord will make me more diligent in this regard.  Help me to be long suffering and not inclined to pass judgment on others. In the Secret of His Tabernacle

Psalm 27:4-5   King James Version (KJV) 4  One thing have I desired of the  Lord , that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the  Lord  all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the  Lord , and to enquire in his temple. 5  For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Dear Friends, What joy and peace to have a heart for the things of God.  What abundant grace  to draw closer to the Lord, to abide daily in His presence. What a worthy desire to seek diligently after the Lord. What a privilege to encounter him in our daily walk.  What beauty to worship Him in spirit and in truth.  God has ordained the gathering of His people in His temple.  Within God's House we can seek Him, worship Him, magnify Him along with other believers. The Lord has provided for us a shelter, a hiding place.  In the secret of His tabernacle is refuge and strength. One thing

This One Thing I Do - Week of June 9, 2019

Philippians 3:13-14   King James Version (KJV) 13  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Dear Friends, This one thing I do each day that God allows, I press toward the mark. The mark is for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  Each day is a separate journey and yet a journey of the whole.  As children of the Most High, each new day affords us an opportunity to be salt and light in this world.   Amidst challenges, trials and sometimes overwhelming odds we keep pressing.  We press knowing that at the end of the press there is a joy that awaits us.  Heaven is in our view. This one thing I do.  I seek to encourage the lives of other believers in their walk with the Lord.  There is the realization that even as we press we are being "pres

That's a Promise - Week of June 2, 2019

Psalm 37:3-5   King James Version (KJV) 3  Trust in the  Lord , and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4  Delight thyself also in the  Lord : and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5  Commit thy way unto the  Lord ; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Dear Friends, Just pondering the promises of God.  A promise, according to Merriam Webster is: a declaration that one will do or refrain from doing something specified reason to expect something   ground for expectation of success, improvement, or excellence The Psalmist tells us to "trust in the Lord and do good" so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  (That's a promise) We are told to " Delight thyself also in the  Lord"  and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (That's a promise) We are admonished to: " Commit thy way unto the  Lord ; trust also in him" an
