In My Sleep

But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. - Jonah 2:9

Like Jonah I sometimes find myself going in a direction that is contrary to where the Lord has led me.

This does not work out well. Ever. One songwriter penned: the safest place in the whole wide world is in the will of God.

I bless God that He often stirs me up in my sleep.

Sometimes the stirring is a song in the night that lasts all night.

There are times when He sends shadows, turmoil that shakes me, bringing me back to my spiritual senses.

Then there are times like last night when he covers my spirit with hope and visions of glory.

I dreamt of a baby girl whose cries turned to humming. I shouted to her parents: do you hear the melody she’s humming? Her parents and I leaned closer as the baby “cried hummed”, “Amazing Grace.”  I was overjoyed, it was a spectacular scene.

The humming of the baby woke me. That which I heard in my sleep stirred my soul.

“Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.  I once was lost but now I’m found. Twas blind but now I see.”

I got up from the bed and lifted my hands to the Lord. I asked God to forgive me of my sins. I thanked Him for instructing me, comforting me, guiding me, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In my sleep the Lord came near. Hallelujah. Bless His Holy Name.

In Christ,

Sis. Stephanie

Help…My Help

Psalms 46:1   “God  is our  refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Help.  God is my Help. Always present…in trouble and in triumph.  Help. God is my Help.  I lift up my eyes knowing my help comes from the Lord.  All my help.  Every need supplied. He is My Support. He is The Solution. My Benefactor. Ever providing. Always nourishing. Constantly replenishing. Help. God is My Help. God bless. In Christ, Sis. Stephanie

THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are honest , whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things.” The truth is Jesus. Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...

The Journey Here

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. - Psalms 23:4 The journey here...that is really something to think about.  Where we are in life as compared to where we had hoped to be.  Paths chosen while other were forgotten or neglected.  Decisions.  Times of indecisiveness. There were times we crawled. Too weary to walk.  We ran. We were too impatient to wait.   The journey.  Here.  That is really something to think about. For me the most difficult and sometimes debilitating aspect of the journey, has been walking through the valley of the shadow of death.  Tempted to fear due to memories of time I could have spent, conversations I should have had, hugs I wish I had given.  This type of fearful fretting is not of God.  I have learned; I am learning that if I truly believe, He is with me.  If I surely stand on His promi...
