I Know Him for Myself!

" And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.  So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word;  And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world." - St. John 4:39-42 Dear Friends, My cousins sang a song years ago, "Jesus Met the Woman at the Well."  Jesus met the woman and he told her all she ever did... The encounter that the Samaritan woman had with Jesus was transforming. No doubt she had heard about the Man from Galilee. Yet when she had a chance to meet him for herself, the personal encounter was one she could not forget. During this encounter, Jesus the former stranger became Jesus the All Knowing as he revealed the truth of her p...

Today I Celebrate My Friend

"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."  - Proverbs 18:24 Dear Friends, One of my closest friends recently published a book that details her 24 year battle with MS.  She describes how this debilitating illness robbed her of many memories, cognitive skills, and a career lucrative career.  My beautiful, intelligent, "angel friend," Henrietta and I, met in college.  Whenever we  talked over the years we would share how neither time or distance could lessen our strong friendship. God brought us together as friends.  It is a spiritual connection.  The testimony of how we became friends is so remarkable that it still brings tears to my eyes.  I know that only the Lord brought the pieces together for the two unlikely friends from Cleveland and Philadelphia.   Today I celebrate my friend. I praise God for her beautiful soul whose faith and hope in God has encouraged me...

Kindness Is a Virtue

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."  - Ephesians 4:32 Dear Friends, Look for ways to be kind.  Speak first.  Extend your hand first. Make the call.  Send the thank you.  Give the compliment. Be gracious.  Give without being asked. Go out of your way to help. "By this shall all men know that  ye  are my disciples,  if   ye  have   love   one  to another." - St. John 13:35 Kindness is a virtue! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

By Faith the Walls Came Down!

"By faith the walls of Jericho fell down..."        - Hebrews 11:30a Dear Friends, There may be some mountains in your life that you need to have removed. They may seem insurmountable.  How can they be overcome? By faith. Decisions need to be made.  Deadlines are pressing. Bills are piling up.  How can you accomplish all that you need to within the time constraints? By faith. You did not get the news you were hoping for following the job interview.  The test results from the doctor are not what you expected.  There are constant delays that are negating the success of your future plans.  How can you keep hanging on when nothing seems to be going your way? By faith. The sixth chapter of the book of Joshua gives the account of Joshua at Jericho.  The Lord let Joshua know that he would conquer Jericho. He gave Joshua specific instructions.  The line up was precise.  The priests had their place in line. ...
