Heavenly

" And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.     And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.     And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.   And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.     And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."    - Revelation 21: 1-5  KJV Dear Friend, Do you ever sit sometime and just think about the reality of heaven?  On television networks so called "reality" shows abound

Still Struggling?

" And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.   And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord ."   Genesis 25:21-22 Dear Friend, Our church choir sings a song entitled, "The Struggle is Over."  One line in the song states, "You've been in this place long enough...God says, the struggle is over for you."   I don't know about you today, but many times I find myself still struggling.  The background for the cited scripture is that Rebekah is carrying twins.  Her pregnancy the result of answered prayers.  Knowing that she had been blessed by God she was perplexed by the immense struggle of the children within her.  How could there be such a struggle along with this blessing?  She wanted to know.  Therefore, Rebekah went to the Source. "She went to enquire of the Lord

God Is My Judge

May 9, 2013 "Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward."                -  Psalm 127:3 Dear Friend, The "Greatest Love of All" was playing just as I getting ready to begin this entry and the Lord quickened me to write about one of my greatest loves, my oldest daughter Dayna. Her name means God is My Judge.  I must admit that I did not know that when her name was chosen.  My husband chose the name.  God knew how significant her name would be and the strength it would bring to her life and the life of our entire family. Through Dayna I have learned to embrace the truth of "a little child shall lead them."  We would come home from church when she was very young and she would want to play choir and always sing "Jesus Will Fix It." I remember once she was playing and I was going through a difficult time, she stopped and looked at me and said. "God is able Mommy!" I called and told my mother

From Start to Finish

May 4, 2013 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"  Philippians 1:6     Dear Friend,   Many employers want to know when seeking individuals to fill vacant positions if potential candidates can multi-task.  Can you handle several projects at one time?  Most of us do that any way on a daily basis.  The larger issue is do we perform the tasks well.    The Lord is the Ultimate Multi-tasker and I know for a certainty that He does all things well. He is able to restore sight both natural and spiritual.  He is able to restore hearing both spiritual and physically.  He is able to give voice to those previously without the ability to speak.   St. Mark chapter 7 tells the account of a man that Jesus  healed  restoring his sight, hearing and  ability to talk.  After doing so it was said of him "he doeth all things well." He did not grant hearing in one ear and le

God Gave Me a Song!

May 1, 2013 " A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken." - Proverbs 15:13 Dear Friend, All of my life I have been a pretty serious person.  I used to joke that, "I only laugh when it is seriously funny."  However, in the midst of the many trials and challenges, I can honestly say that I have always had a song in my heart.  Different songs for different times and situations.  Yet, always a song.  Many years ago in a choir I participated in we sang a song entitled, "God Gave Me a Song."  The writer penned:                                God gave me a song, that the angels could not                                sing,  I've been washed in the blood of the crucified one.                                I've been redeemed...Sometimes when I am feeling low                                no one to care, no place to go.  My Father is rich in houses                                and lands,
