S is for Stand: Stand in the Path

Jeremiah 6:16King James Version (KJV)

16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Dear Friends,

Many of us are familiar with the expression, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water."  So many times these days in churches and among Christians I hear about getting rid of the old way and the tradition.  Yet, I read in Jeremiah 6:16 that the Lord has something else to say.  Sometimes we need to stand still and wait on the Lord.  Most of our churches are have many generations represented and because of that we need to be very mindful that God is concerned about each and every soul from the youngest to the eldest.  

What some call tradition I contend that God calls order.  God is a God of order.

Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
