The God of All Seasons

Dear Friends, The Lord will be with us in all seasons.  In our childhood and our youth. He is with us throughout the young adult years and middle age. And when winter comes, the years of gray and white, the same God abides faithful and produces fruit in the lives of Christians that add value in His kingdom.  Never too young...never too old to let your light shine. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Hold Fast to The Word of God

Dear Friends, The time is coming...in many instances that time is hear when people do not want to hear God's Word.  They would prefer that the Word of God be diluted and taught and preached in a way that conforms to their liking.  It does not work that way. It should not work that way. I offer encouragement today particularly to teachers. Teachers in Sunday School and Bible Studies -- Hold fast to the Word of God.  Isaiah 55:10-11   King James Version (KJV) 10  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Chapter One

Dear Friends, "As good as God has been to me I can't afford not to give Him praise."  Today on the blog I am going to share a short story that I wrote some time ago. I am releasing it today because today is a day of new beginnings.  The name of the story is Chapter One.  With God there is always room for new beginnings. Although the story is fiction. It is biographical fiction. It makes my soul look back in wonder how I got over. I know the answer: It was by the grace of God!                                   Chapter One – The Other House                                    - by Stephanie D. K. Tyus @2016 My grandmother had a way of keeping up with time at her house. You always knew what to expect depending on whether it was the first, second, third or fourth Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of the month.  Saturdays and Sundays were regular.  You got ready for church on Saturday regardless of which one it was. On Sunday you went to church.  Per

Songs in My Soul...Songs of Prayer

Psalm 42:7-8   King James Version (KJV) 7  Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. 8  Yet the  Lord  will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. Dear Friends, There are songs in my soul that God has planted there through the years some old, some new. Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs teaching and admonishing me.  Songs in my soul resonate and give me comfort, bring me joy, renew my strength. Dear Lord,  Thank you for the songs you have placed in my soul. Please hears my songs of prayer: Great Is Thy Faithfulness Have Thine Own Way Lord Lead Me Guide Me Guide Me O Thy Great Jehovah Give Me a Clean Heart Shine On Me Father I Stretch My Hand to Thee Lord I'm Available to You I Want to Be A Follower of Christ Through It All I've Learned How to Lean and Depend on Jesus I Want to Be Worthy  Show Me the W

Filled to the Utmost

Dear Friends, God fills our lives with good things.  Take the time to enjoy the goodness of God. The sounds of the days, children laughing, birds chirping, music playing...good things. Live in the moment. Look up at the sky. Look around at the trees. God fills our lives with good things.  Pause and look in the mirror. Look at you...fearfully and wonderfully made. God said so.   Filled to the utmost. Good things! God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

God Keeps His Promises

Dear Friends, God keeps His promises. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.   -  2 Corinthians 1:20-22   King James Version (KJV) Genesis 3:15 - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Acts 2:38-39 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.   Philippians 4:19 - But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 2 Peter 1:4 - Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world thro

My Strength

Dear Friends, The joy Of the Lord Is My Strength   It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.     - Psalm 18:32 I will love thee, O  Lord , my strength. The  Lord  is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the  Lord , who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. - Psalm 18:1-3 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the  Lord . - Psalm 31:25 The JOY of the Lord is my strength. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Just Passing Through

Dear Friends, The songwriter penned:  "This world is not my home. I'm just a passing through.  If heaven is not my home. Then Lord, what shall I do.  The angels beckon me from heaven's open door.  I can't feel at home in this world anymore." Just passing through sisters and brothers.  Let us journey on each day remembering that our citizenship is on high. This world is not our home.  Don't forget about heaven.  Heaven. But our citizenship  is in heaven.  And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,     who, by the power  that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies  so that they will be like his glorious body.  -  Philippians 3:20-21   (NIV) Just passing through. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

God Is Still Good

Dear Friends, The three Hebrew boys faced a fiery furnace because of their unwillingness to bow down to commandments that were not of God.  They professed their faith in the ability of the One and Only True God to deliver them.  They declared that His will did not negate His ability when they stated: And if not, He is still good. The goodness of God is not determined by our plight in life.  God's goodness is never failing.  In the midst of the trial, in the midst of walking through the valley of any shadow...God is still good. The testimony of these three young men did not prevent them from being tossed into the fiery furnace.  However, their faith in God kept them safe in the furnace and He went before them and stayed with them in the intense heat.  Likewise, the same God brought them out. God is still bringing His children out.  God is still Good. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Right Now...In This Moment The Lord is Near

Dear Friends, Right now in this moment the Lord is near. So often the pressures of life and everyday challenges can make us feel alone. But God is not a feeling. His love for us is not mere emotion. Love is God . Love is the manifestation of the character of God .  God IS LOVE. Knowing that we are surrounded by such love, we can be bold.  Our boldness in God is steadfast when we approach His throne.  We take ourselves and all that we are and hope to be to Him. We approach the Lord's throne with reverent boldness. Every tear, every utterance, every cry and yes every praise is heard by Our Magnificent Lord.  Oh how He loves you and me. Right now in this moment the Lord is near. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Love for Real

Dear Friends, People want to know that you really care about them.  In a world where so much is "fake" people are searching for the genuine.  Love for real.  The Bible defines real love: Love suffers long  and  is kind;  Love does not envy  Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up Does not behave rudely Does not seek its own Is not easily provoked Thinks no evil Does not rejoice in iniquity But rejoices in truth Bear all things Believes all things Hopes all things Endures all things Love never fails... I Corinthians 13:4-8cf Love for real! God bless. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Dear Friends, Keep stepping The steps of a good man are ordered Keep stepping By the Lord Keep stepping Your steps are established Keep stepping When God delights in you, you will not stumble Keep stepping You will not fall Keep stepping The Lord will uphold you with His hand Keep stepping! God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

The Light from the Lighthouse

Dear Friends, Let it shine! Let it shine! Let it shine!  I remember my daughter Darci closing out the speech she was asked to give at her high school commencement.  She ended with three powerful "Let It Shine!" statements. Purpose , that is what the shining light of Jesus Christ is about for the Christian.  He tells us:  Matthew 5:14-16   King James Version (KJV) 14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Everywhere you go...Let it shine Jesus gave it to you...Let it shine He told you to...Let it shine All in your home...Let it shine On your job...Let it shine While you're in school...Let it shine This little light of mine, I'm going to...Let it shine

Thinking About the Lord

Dear Friends, There is a song that greatly inspires me entitled "When I Think About the Lord. I hope that you will take time to visit the youtube link: https://youtu.be/ovFOoBMs_4g "When I think about the Lord how He saved me... how He raised me... how He filled me with the Holy Ghost ...how He healed me to the uttermost."   "It makes be want to shout Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus." Thinking about the goodness of God, His great love and mercy today.  Thinking about: How he saved me How he raised me How he filled me With the Holy Ghost How He healed me to the uttermost Thinking about the goodness of God.  His grace and compassion are new each day. Just think about the Lord: It make me want to shout Hallelujah Thank you Jesus Thinking about the Lord. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Just...Good and True

Dear Friends, I was thinking about the expression "just to good to be true."  People including myself often use this expression when something seems so flawless that we doubt that it could be real.  Too perfect.  Yet, as with many thoughts and phrases when you just run them all together and do not stop to ponder what is being repeated, cliches are created. The Holy Spirit has a way of slowing us down and making us consider our thoughts, words and actions and their potential impact. I could hear in my spirit: God is Just. God is Good. God is True. Just. Good. True. Our God is : Righteous God is Just Faithful Merciful God is Good Faithful God is True Just. Good. True.  Just God. Good God.   Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! He is Worthy in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Made by ...Carried by...Rescued by God

Dear Friends, It is great consolation to know that in times like these the Lord God who made us yet carries us.  He will sustain us.  In times like these... God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie                 “In Times Like These.”  - Ruth Cayce Jones In times like these we need a Savior; In times like these we need an anchor. Search and Rescue

Dear Friends, Perilous times come. Yet in the midst of such times, we have a constant.  Jesus is Our Constant. He is: Our Constant Hope Our Constant Strength Our Constant Anchor JESUS  He made us and He knows all about us.  We are His.  In our darkest hours He can be found. Jeremiah 29:13   King James Version (KJV) 13  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Matthew 7:7-8   King James Version (KJV) 7  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Psalm 34:3-4   King James Version (KJV) 3  O magnify the  Lord  with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4  I sought the  Lord , and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. I sought the Lord and He found me.  Search and Rescue. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Truly Valuable

Dear Friends, God values each one of us.  His great love for us secured our eternal life if we would accept His Son, Jesus Christ as Savior.  Truly valuable. God made us declares the Psalmist "fearfully and wonderfully." (Psalm 139:14) Truly valuable. The birds of the air do not sow nor reap yet they matter to God. He provides for them.  Are you not much more valuable than the birds? The answer is yes!  Truly valuable. Truly valuable to God. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie
