The Master's Class - Week of September 30, 2018

Psalm 32:7-8   King James Version (KJV) 7  Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8  I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way  which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Dear Friends, God will instruct. God will teach.  The lessons learned in the Lord's classroom are taught by The Master Teacher, the Holy Spirit.   He teaches us and guides us in the truth that is God's word.  He brings to our remembrance the necessary guidance needed when we find ourselves in periods of trials and testing.   The Holy Spirit tutors us in areas of life where extra help is needed. He comforts our soul.  He encourages our spirit.  He reminds us that we are not alone. Students we remain for a lifetime in God's Master Class.  We are always in a period of growth as we keep ourselves focused on Jesus Christ.  We are empowered by the Word of God. The Master Class!  Oh to be

Frankly Speaking... Week of September 16, 2018

Ephesians 5:19-20   King James Version (KJV) 19  Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20  Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Dear Friends, God's Word is all powerful. Ephesians 5:19-20 is one of my favorite verses. Speak! To yourselves Say what? Speak! In  Psalms "The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear. The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid..." In Hymns "I know I am a child of God although I move so slow.  I'll wait until the Spirit comes and move as God commands." In Spiritual Songs: "I love you. I love you.  I love you Lord today. Because you care for me in such a special way. That's why I praise you. I lift you up. I magnify your name. That's why my heart is filled with praise." Holy conversations.  Talk

Let All That I Am Wait Quietly - Week of September 9, 2018

Dear Friends, I once heard a preacher say: "Wait while you are waiting. A good waiter waits."  To wait is not to stand still. Waiting requires action.  Waiting on the Lord for an answer?  Wait while you wait .  Serve.   My prayer:  Lord "Let all that I am wait quietly..."  No sounding drums, no tinkling cymbals.  Just allow me, enable me to serve."  How can we best serve God?  One way is to use the talent the Holy Spirit has empowered us with to serve others.   The reason I blog is to wait on God's people. My purpose is to serve through teaching, encouraging and witnessing.  While writing or even in preparation, I am waiting, quietly, to hear from the Lord.  The question:: "Lord what is the message you would have me to deliver?"   Lord let all that I am wait quietly. As you reveal Your will to me, let me with gracious humility carry out what You assign.  The scripture teaches: Romans 12:6-8   King James Version (KJV) 6  Having

Great Expectations - Week of September 2, 2018

Dear Friends, Just in case you have forgotten, the enemy loves to make people lose their mind. No, I am not talking about your mental capacity to function in a way that society deems normal.  I am talking about losing your spiritual mind that is to be centered in Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us: "...let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5)  Having the mind of Christ is to be focused on the Lord and His attributes.  It is feeding our minds consistently on God's Word.  It is to ponder the amazing grace of God, the abundant mercy of God. It is to renew our hope.  It is to exercise our faith. It is going to take all of the above to stay in your right mind. The enemy works by planting seeds of doubt and fear. The Bible instructs in 2 Timothy 1:7 - "God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind." Right now, I feel bombarded. However, I do not have to remain overwhelmed.  Psalm 61:1-2 is one o
