Stick with the Script

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness... II Timothy 3:16 January 16, 2016 The phrase "stick with the script" is often given as an admonishment, a gentle push or out and out directive when an individual or group is getting off task.  As the Holy Spirit laid the theme for today on my heart I had to pause and say "Jesus this is really something." The more appropriate response would have been JESUS YOU ARE REALLY SOMETHING! I need to STICK WITH THE SCRIPT! The Script is God's Word and Jesus, hallelujah is The Word of God.  What peace what comfort to have the Holy Spirit give pause to say to us today Stick to the Script.  Hold fast to the Word of God.  Embrace Jesus Christ and understand that there is no reason to get off course.  In fact, not sticking to the Holy Scriptures is what causes much of the turmoil in our lives.   A script in hand ensures t...

Only God

"I will go in the strength of the Lord  God ; I will make mention of Thy righteousness, even of Thine  only ."                          -Psalms 71:16 January 15, 2016 One of my sister's favorite saying was: "Only God!" No matter what happened she was able to keep her balance and remain steadfast by leaning on the truth of this Word: Only God.   If you are blessed to have shelter - Only God If you are blessed with health - Only God If sickness looms large - Only God If you ridiculed and thought to be odd - Only God Only God. God Only.  There is none else besides who can lift us and illuminate darkness.   God said: "Let there be light" and at His Word daybreak appeared for the first time.  Glory to God! Only God.  God Only. How did it happen?  God showed up in Genesis to  let us know Who He Is.  Let there be light was God announcing Here I am for I am Light. " ...

Powerful!

" God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power  belongeth  unto God."                                                          - Psalms 62:11 Dear Friends, At times  there are so many things to do, goals to accomplish and commitments to meet that the weight of "it all" can cause one to feel powerless.  it is then that we can encourage ourselves by remembering that the power to accomplish all that needs to be done is available in the One Who is All Powerful. In Matthew 28:16 Jesus tells us: "  ...All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth." There is no situation to great, no bully too intimidating, no circumstance so dire that the Lord does not have the ability to control, cancel or redirect.  I remember by father in-law often saying "all means all". Jesus Christ al...

Remembering

January 13, 2016 "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also."  - St. John 14:18-19 Dear Friend, The Lord has a way of reminding us.  On days when I feel alone and sad, the Holy Spirit will deposit  a song in my heart: "Because he lives I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone...I know Who holds my future and life is worth the living, just because He lives!"  The presence of the Lord's Spirit does not stop there, I can hear Him whisper, the truth of the matter has been written --  "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more, but ye see me; because I live..."   - St. John - 14:18-19 cf    Today is one of those days when I needed to be reminded.  The reminders for times like this are not entered in my multiple email calendars.  There is no...

Now Unto Him

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,”  Jude 1:24 I remember a few years ago when my daughter got her driver's license.  She was excited the day of her test and ready to show her skills on both the road and maneuverability test. I was too high-strung to help much with instruction (I did pay for the classes).  Her father took her out for practice and he also took her to the Driver's Bureau to take the test. All went well with the road test.  Then came the maneuverability.  One cone down and a joyful young lady quickly became heart broken.  Words meant to encourage did little to ease the pain.  However, faithful to His promise the Lord through the Holy Spirit gave her hope. I said to my daughter:  "Life is full of maneuvers and blind spots.  But, what may appear or not to be blind spots for us are not blind spots for God.  Put him in...

Don't Faint

March 15 2014 "I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."      Psalms 27:13 "Everywhere you go there is trouble.  Everywhere you go there is strife.  Everywhere you go there is something that worries you.  But, remember, my God is standing by."              - Walter Hawkins Trouble does not always announce itself. Sometimes it seems that almost out of nowhere it is sitting next to you, looming over you or chasing you.  No one is exempt.  There may be seasons of calm but there are also seasons filled with storms.  Jesus tells us in St. John 16: 33 " In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." Trouble can make us tremble but it doesn't have to make us faint.  It can tire us but it does not have to weary us. Galatians 6:9 " And let us not be weary in wel...

Heavenly

" And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.     And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.     And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.   And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.     And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."    - Revelation 21: 1-5  KJV Dear Friend, Do you ever sit sometime and just think about the reality of heaven?  On televisi...
