Strong Refuge - Psalm 71:5-7

Psalm 71:5-7   King James Version (KJV) 5  For thou art my hope, O Lord  God : thou art my trust from my youth. 6  By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. 7  I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. Refuge.  Safety. Hiding Place. We need a refuge from the storm  It is raging. Where is safety? Is there a place to hide from the terror? A place of comfort? Yes, there is. In Christ we have refuge, safety, a hiding place.  In Him we have comfort.  This hiding place in the Lord is not however, a place of exemption.  We are not exempt from trouble.  We cannot escape from sometimes feeling the inner turmoil of chaotic times.  The fact of the matter is that the God Who Is our strong refuge indwells us through His Holy Spirit.  We are overcomers.  Righteousness will prevail.  But God did not s...

For He Hath Said - Hebrews 13:5-6

Hebrews 13:5-6   King James Version (KJV) 5  Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6  So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. The consolation we have in this present world comes from the knowledge we have of Our Father God.  Father God has provided all that we need even though sometimes we may feel needy.  Feelings that we are alone, feeling of despair, feelings of hopelessness must be met with scriptural fact.  We can rest in contentment in the midst of chaos, for The Lord is our helper.  For He hath said, He will never leave us or forsake us. Powerful is the Word of the Lord. Hebrew 4:2 teaches: For  the   word   of   God   is   quick , and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to  the  dividing asunder...

We Seek Peace - Psalm 85:9-11

Psalm 85:9-11   King James Version (KJV) 9  Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. 10  Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. 11  Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. We Seek Peace - by sdktyus@2020 We seek peace It is peace we pursue We hurry after it We pray for it We desire it in all that we do. We seek peace We seek the opportunity to understand Why all the hatred Hatred runs rampant in the land. But we seek peace On city streets, in homes, in hearts We seek peace Peace that God imparts We seek peace We cry unto Him as we know to do We seek peace Peace even after all we've been through We seek peace We follow mercy and peace We seek peace  We hunger for it  Peace with each heart beat We seek peace  In place of the tears that now fall We are pursuing it We a...

Mindful - Psalm 8:3-4

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;   What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  - Psalm 8:3-4 God in His magnificent splendor created the heavens and the earth.  He took the time to hang the sun and moon in the sky.  Flowers, bird and beasts were brought into existence by His voice command.  Let there be...and so it was and so it continues.   Every morning the sun rises and in the evening sets.  The moon shines even when clouds hide its view.  Stars glitter in the sky.  Magnificent God has ordained it. As human beings we often must be prompted to render praise and offer thanks. Yet, the rest of nature is synchronized to obey.  Us? We have free will.  In the  everyday journey we must be mindful to honor God.  What a privilege we enjoy to be able to render praise.  What abundant blessings ...

God Is in the Midst - Psalms 46:5

Psalm 46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.   The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The  Lord  of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the  Lord , what desolations he hath made in the earth.   He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.   Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted amo...

The Faithful Messenger - Proverbs 25:13a

As the cold of snow in the  time  of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul...        -Proverbs 25:13a My desire is to be a faithful messenger. Truthful, consistent, led by the Holy Spirit. The best formula I have found to achieve these goals, is to stand on the Word of God.  God’s Word is true, consistent and Spirit inspired.  Every word of God is true. God shields those who trust and obey. Faithful. Ordered steps. Led by God. Iniquity cannot abound.  God is the Faithful messenger. He sent us a message of love and redemption when He sent His Only Begotten Son. Jesus is The Faithful Messenger. Sacrificing His life that we might have live eternally. The Holy Spirit is the Faithful Messenger. He brings all things to our remembrance, the words of life. He instructs us in the way to go.  Refreshing! Reviving! Renewing! The Faithful Messenger. Comforting! Cleansing! Challen...

In the "What" Time - Psalms 56:3

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”      - Psalms 56:3 In what time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.  When I am fearful, I will trust.  When I am anxious, I will trust. When I am overwhelmed, I will trust.  When I am am lonely, I will trust. I choose trust.  I chose to trust in God. In times when the way is cloudy, I will trust.  When l don't understand what is going on around me, I will trust.  When it seems as though all hope is lost, I will trust. We have a choice.  Trust in God is a choice.  The expression "faith over fear." is worth meditating on.  Faith over fear. For a child of God it is choosing to trust Him, to take Him at His word.  It is an exchange of our feelings for His grace. Sometimes I find myself getting anxious.  I feel tempted to reside in worry rather than abide in faith.  Praise God for the Holy Spirit.  He reminds me that I have a choice.  His prompting e...
