How We Answer

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” - Proverbs 15:1

“Excuse me,  may I get by please?” Sure “hon”, was the response. “I’m sorry I can’t get past your cart.” And then I heard: The cart don’t move? I turned and looked at the store manager who had rang me out. I then moved my fellow shopper’s cart out of the way. As I was leaving I said: “You all have a good day! God bless you!”

Now let me say, I don’t know if the soft answer turned the other person’s wrath away. I don’t know if there was intended malice in what was said. But I do know that through the grace of God my soft answer turned away my wrath. I left the store with a smile. When I got inside my car I was still smiling.  For certainly I was reminded that carts don’t move on their own. Something or someone has to push.

Push. Keep going. Pray and climb the mountain. Sing and escape the rage. Remember how far you’ve come and get your praise on.   Ooo—oo there was a time when the flesh would have spoken and I wouldn’t have this testimony. Lord thank you for “soft answer” grace Your strength made perfect in my weakness.

How we answer matters. I learned this through the example of other Christians. I am so thankful. I don’t have to argue or get upset. The cart moved and so did my heart. It’s been a mighty good day! Thank you Lord!

God bless!

In Christ,

Sis. Stephanie

Help…My Help

Psalms 46:1   “God  is our  refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Help.  God is my Help. Always present…in trouble and in triumph.  Help. God is my Help.  I lift up my eyes knowing my help comes from the Lord.  All my help.  Every need supplied. He is My Support. He is The Solution. My Benefactor. Ever providing. Always nourishing. Constantly replenishing. Help. God is My Help. God bless. In Christ, Sis. Stephanie

THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are honest , whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things.” The truth is Jesus. Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...

The Journey Here

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. - Psalms 23:4 The journey here...that is really something to think about.  Where we are in life as compared to where we had hoped to be.  Paths chosen while other were forgotten or neglected.  Decisions.  Times of indecisiveness. There were times we crawled. Too weary to walk.  We ran. We were too impatient to wait.   The journey.  Here.  That is really something to think about. For me the most difficult and sometimes debilitating aspect of the journey, has been walking through the valley of the shadow of death.  Tempted to fear due to memories of time I could have spent, conversations I should have had, hugs I wish I had given.  This type of fearful fretting is not of God.  I have learned; I am learning that if I truly believe, He is with me.  If I surely stand on His promi...
