"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
- St. Matthew 6:19-21
Dear Friends,
I have been thinking a lot lately about the things that really matter to me. I love to read and over the past several years, I have not had as much time as I would like to do so. I love sitting on the porch. I love taking the time to talk with others and encourage them in Christ. All of these things are important to me. Relationship building is important. People are important. Family is important. My relationship with Christ is important.
Material things have always been secondary. This has a lot to do with the way I was raised as a child. Money is secondary and is a means to an end. How can money be used to help others? How can material things be utilized to improve the quality of life for those around you? Do you treasure the people in your life enough to want to bless them with your gifts, your time and your talents?
The answers to these questions have eternal significance?
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." - St. John 15:13
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
