Psalm 42:11King James Version (KJV)
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Dear Friends,
What does it mean for the soul to be cast down and disquieted? It can be a sad day or a season of intense grief. It can be years of depression or seasons of it. It can be a mind that is troubled and ill and wonders if anyone cares or understands.
The disquieted soul or troubled mind can be a place of extreme isolation. For those who have been beset with constant or frequent visits to such a place the Why that rings out comes from a place of deep anguish. "Father do you see me in this valley."
The Holy Spirit reveals to the Psalmist not to lose hope. It is the Spirit that brings comfort in the valley. Praise is necessary in the valley.
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. - Isaiah 61:3
Praise in the valley eases the disquiet. It does not mean we won't experience the valleys again. But God has provided the garment, the covering, our praise to Him will see us through them.
My brother or sister if you are under a cloud or in a valley today and cannot see your way out, there is hope in Christ Jesus.
Praise Him for what He has already done. Little things ...start counting the blessing and the garment grows and takes shape to fit your life circumstance.
Only you can praise God for your blessings. No one can tell it like you can what the Lord has done for you. Only you.
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
