Our Daily Occupation

Luke 9:22-24King James Version (KJV)

22 Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Dear Friends,

Our daily walk with Christ requires sacrifice. Jesus tells us that if we would follow him we must deny ourselves and take up our cross daily.

Our cross whatever burdens we may carry in this life may weigh us down. Yet, on the shoulders of our Savior in the arms of Christ there is rest, comfort and ultimately resolution.

The following hymn by Thomas Shepherd is one of my favorites.   The Bible tells us to teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.  I hope the words of the hymn will encourage you today.

Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone?
    - Thomas Shepherd

  1. Must Jesus bear the cross alone,
And all the world go free?
No, there’s a cross for everyone,
And there’s a cross for me.
  2. How happy are the saints above,
    Who once went sorr’wing here!
But now they taste unmingled love,
    And joy without a tear.
  3. The consecrated cross I’ll bear
    Till death shall set me free;
And then go home my crown to wear,
For there’s a crown for me.
  4. Upon the crystal pavement down
    At Jesus’ pierced feet,
Joyful I’ll cast my golden crown
    And His dear Name repeat.
  5. O precious cross! O glorious crown!
    O resurrection day!
When Christ the Lord from heav’n comes down
    And bears my soul away.

God bless you!

in Christ,

Sis. Stephanie

Adds Up…

2 Peter 1:5   “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;” One of my hobbies is making yarn wreaths.  The wreath frame symbolizing an unbroken circle and an eternal hope. Help…My Help

Psalms 46:1   “God  is our  refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Help.  God is my Help. Always present…in trouble and in triumph.  Help. God is my Help.  I lift up my eyes knowing my help comes from the Lord.  All my help.  Every need supplied. He is My Support. He is The Solution. My Benefactor. Ever providing. Always nourishing. THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are honest , whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things.” The truth is Jesus. Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...
