John 6:28-33King James Version (KJV)
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Dear Friends,
It is impossible to do the work of the Lord apart from Jesus Christ.
Therefore, believing in Jesus and knowing that He was sent here by Father God is the beginning of the work in us. This work, accepting Christ as Savior is the first step in the journey.
The scriptures tell us about "the work"
" And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"
- 2 Corinthians 9:8
" Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
- Philippians 1:6
"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
- Philippians 2:13
"Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work."
- 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
This is the work of: believe on Jesus Christ the One sent by God.
God bless!
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
