Luke 7:12-14 King James Version (KJV)
12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
Dear Friends,
A mother had just lost her only son and the congregation of mourners were with her for support. As Jesus observed the situation, he had compassion on her. He told her to stop crying. He approached the cart that was being used to carry the man and those transporting him stood still. Jesus spake these words: Young man I say to thee arise.
The Lord is a Lord of compassion is touched with our grief. Human suffering is not something He ignored. Mothers and fathers crying out for lost children. Some have experienced the ultimate loss, the death of a child. Others grieve for children caught in the cycle of drug addiction. There are those who mourn children being ripped from their arms as they seek a better life in this country.
The call is going out for Christians to rise up.
Arise and be an advocate for those who have no voice. Arise and touch the life of someone in need by the power of your prayers, the acts of your compassion, the demonstration of your love.
I say to THEE arise.
God bless!
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
