He Knows All About Us

"Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture." - Psalms 100:3 Dear Friends, My grandmother used to say: "God made us and He knows all about us."  I think about that often.  I may have referred to this in previous posts.  God.  He knows all about us.  Our ups and downs.  Our strengths and weaknesses, He knows. In those times when we feel overwhelmed and the burdens too heavy, He knows.  During this season these feelings are the backdrop for some.  It is not that the joy of Jesus is not in the heart of the Christian.  However, grief has no season and when it is fresh and when sickness is present the willing spirit can appear crushed by the weak flesh.  Praise God for in those times the Great God who made us knows all about us. In all seasons the Lord is with us.  We are his people declares the Psalmist.  We are the sheep of His pasture. God. He knows all about us.  He lo

Do You See What I See?

Hebrews 2:9-10   King James Version (KJV) 9  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10  For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Dear Friends, Do you see what I see? The songwriter penned: "Now behold the Lamb, the Precious Lamb of God. Born into sin that I may live again, the Precious Lamb of God." Do you see what I see, Jesus, the Precious Lamb of God.   Do you see what I see?  Jesus. He was made a little lower than the angels. He suffered for you and me. He was crowned with glory and honor. Purposefully, that by the grace of God He should taste death, endure the cross for every man.  Do you see what I see. Do you see what I see? God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoev

God Will Finish What He Started

7  And the  Lord  God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 18  And the  Lord  God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 21  And the  Lord  God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22  And the rib, which the  Lord  God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  - Genesis 2:7, 18, 21-22 Dear Friends, Picture this through a spiritual lense.  The Lord breathing into the nostrils of a new born baby as she exits the womb.  I believe it happens this way.  Breath of life that is needed to endure this world is different from what sustains the baby in the womb.  Faithful God always finishes what He starts. The Holy Spirit encourages my soul that even as grace greets us as we enter the world so grace shall encompass us when we leave.  The lov

As One

2 Chronicles 5:12-14   King James Version (KJV) 12  Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) 13  It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one , to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the  Lord ; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the  Lord , saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the  Lord ; 14  So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the  Lord  had filled the house of God. Dear Friends, When voices are lifted together in song, in unison as with congregational singing. there is a certain be

Such a Beautiful Light

John 8:12   King James Version (KJV) 12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Dear Friends, I love to see the display of lights during Christmas. Beautiful lights on houses and business displays.  Colorful lights. White lights.  Lights coordinated in spectacular designs.  Yet, the most beautiful, the divinely coordinated, the Uniquely Spectacular is Jesus Christ.  Jesus, The Light of the World. He invites us each day to walk in, to bask in, to enjoy such a beautiful light.  He fills us with His light and in so doing He illuminates the spark in us.  He tell us to let our light shine. Why? So that others might see our good works and glory God. Jesus! The Magnificent Light.  Jesus! The Holy Light. Jesus! Such a Beautiful Light. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

I Want to Understand

Psalm 119:124-125 King James Version (KJV) 124  Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes. 125  I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies. Dear Friends, What a privilege to be taught by the Holy Spirit.  He is faithful in leading and guiding us and giving us clear understanding if we look to Him.  When it was time for Jesus to leave this world, He said that we would not be left comfortless.  The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit would be sent by God to not only comfort but also to teach us, to guide us in truth and to remind us. In times like these I want to understand, clearly understand what God's will is daily.  To know what God would have me say requires seeking understanding that He alone can provide. Serving God means being willing to receive orders and then follow them.  Lord I pray for the wisdom to understand and the faith to act according to Your Word.  I pray not only for myself but for the Body

Strength in the Soul

Psalm 138:1-3   King James Version (KJV) 138  I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. 2  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. 3  In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul. Dear Friends, On days when health falters, the Lord provides strength in the soul.  When decisions need to be made and the weight rests on the heart, the Lord provides strength in the soul. Strengh in the soul keeps us from toppling over.  Strength in the soul helps us to hold on for one more day.  Strength in the soul anchors our faith.  Strength in the soul renews our hopes. Strength in the soul.  In the day when I cried the Lord answered me and he strengthened me with strength in my soul. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Ties That Bind

Psalm 139:12-14   King James Version (KJV) 12  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. 13  For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. 14  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Dear Friends, Seven years ago in December I started the blog under the name Unique Inspiration.  Many years ago Unique Inspiration was issued as an inspirational newsletter and gracious individuals such as the late Gertrude Ribbins allowed me to make the free publication available in her bookstore.   One day while sitting at my computer the Holy Spirit whispered to my spirit, "I'm changing the name." I asked, "to what?" The response: "Tysthatbind." From that day on the blog has been published under that title.   There are so many ties that bind us toget

I'm Talking About God

2 Samuel 22:33-35   King James Version (KJV) 33  God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. 34  He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places. 35  He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms . Dear Friends, I was so sad to see the lifeless dear lying at the end of the yard on my brother's street.  Lifeless.  The strong deer once agile and swift.  Graceful. She was laying there with eyes open but unable to see.  I wondered what had happened.  Did she get hit by a car? She then made it as far as she could and just laid down? Whatever the case, it was her time. She arrived at a grassy place, a peaceful place. In the midst of the city with cars honking and rows of houses God led her to a place that looked like home. "Sis. Deer" laid her burdens down.  No more dodging traffic.  No more sneaking nibbles of grass and flowers.  The struggle is over. God, the Master of all creati

Clear Sight

Isaiah 6:1-3   King James Version (KJV) 6  In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the  Lord  sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2  Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3  And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the  Lord  of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Dear Friends, Sometimes we allow people or things to get in the way of clear sight.  Our view of the Lord and His majesty is cloudy.  Our spirit knows the truth, but the enemy sows seeds of discord.  He plants lies.  If we entertain these falsehoods we are weakened.  We may become sad.  Or spirit may become unreasonably heavy.  We may start to think that we are alone.   "Our king Uzziah" does not always die a natural death. But the hold that some people have on us, the unhealthy relationships, the corrupt conversations ha

I Will Be With You

"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." - Isaiah 43:2 Dear Friends, Roadblocks can be deep waters.  Lack of support can be a river.  Opposition can burn like fire. Criticism that is not constructive can be a simmering flame. But God has promised to be with us as we pass through the waters assuring us that we will not be overcome by them. He lets us know that no fire of opposition is so great that it cannot be extinguished by Him. When I read Isaiah 43:2 and meditate on the magnitude of the promise outlined here I am so thankful that God loves me and reminds me of His constant help, presence and protection throughout His Word. I will be with you. I WILL be with you.  I will be with YOU. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Strength Finder

"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation." - Isaiah 12:2 Dear Friends, Jesus. My Strength Finder.  I do not have to be afraid.  Although, I am afraid sometimes. I don't have to be. It is up to me. I can choose to focus on the circumstances or I can choose to trust God.  It is a daily walk. It is a "choose ye this day" journey.  It is a marathon.  Day by day the faith choice is to find our strength in God. Today, look up. Today, look around. Today, look to God.  Behold, God is our salvation. God is our trust. We do not have to be afraid.  God is our song. Glory! Hallelujah! The Lord is my light and my salvation. whom shall I fear? "The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" - Psalms 27:1 Jesus. My Strength Finder. I do not have to be afraid. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

More Than We Ask For

And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.   And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:   And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.   And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.   And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.   And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?   There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.   And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.    - Luke 17:11-19 Dear Friends, The ten men were eager for an encounter with Jesus.  They understood that He alone had the powe

When I Am Afraid

Psalm 56:2-4 King James Version (KJV) 2  Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. 3  What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 4  In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Dear Friends, Sometimes I am afraid.  Afraid in my humanness.  This morning when I woke up there was a feeling of anxiety, which is fear, in my head.  What I have learned, what I continue to learn, is what to do with fear.  When I am afraid I will trust in the Lord.  When I am afraid I will praise His Word.  What does this mean?  I will apply God's remedy to my fear. God has said, "Fear not" numerous times throughout the scriptures.  It's time to look up verses.  It's time to review, memorize and recite.  When I am afraid, I will trust in the Lord. The enemy does not leave me alone because I am a child of God.  Yet, the Lord will cause Him to retreat

Listen Carefully

John 10:27-28   King James Version (KJV) 27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Dear Friends, Before I start typing the blog I ask the Lord "what would you have me to say.'  I try earnestly to listen carefully and not be distracted by my own thoughts.  Sometimes I have to edit the title because what sounds good to me is not in line with what God wants. "Listen Carefully." God speaks to us clearly through His Word. The voice of the Holy Spirit is distinct.  There is no other power that can supersede His Voice.  However, we must listen carefully.  Not allowing ourselves to become distracted.  The voice that gets in the way of our hearing clearly is often our own. Listen carefully. God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

He Knows My Name

"To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth." - Isaiah 40:25-26 Dear Friends, My grandmother used to say: "He made me and He knows all about me."  The Lord God does know all about each of us.  And just as He calls the stars by name, He knows our names. My name and yours. "It's me. It's me. It's me O Lord standing in the need of prayer. Not my mother not my father, but it's me O Lord...Not my sister not my brother but it's me O Lord."  He knows my name. It's such a comfort to know that God cares so much that He is concerned about each detail of my life. What I eat for breakfast, my daily calendar, shelter and clothing.  God cares.  He knows my name. Gospel artist Tasha Cobbs sings:
