2 Chronicles 5:12-14 King James Version (KJV)
12 Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)
13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord;
14 So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.
Dear Friends,
When voices are lifted together in song, in unison as with congregational singing. there is a certain beauty. It is the beauty of abandon. Voices lifted in praises to God, each singing in their own voice not thinking if they are on pitch. No judgment for being "off key". Just an "Oh How I Love Jesus" good time.
There is also the "as one" rendition of harmony when the sopranos hold their own, altos tow the line and tenors shine through. Baritones and bass, if there be any, represent. We hear melodious music. We hear the melody defined. Melody. The principal part in harmonized music.
The music is sweet to our ears for we hear the sound "as one."
So it should be in not only our worship and praise but also in our message. As one we represent the Lord Jesus Christ. The message is love. The Bible teaches us: "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." - John 13:35
Let us move forward as one shining our lights in Christian love.
God bless!
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
