"Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray." - Psalms 5:1-2
Dear Friends,
Several months ago I was sitting next to a little girl during Sunday worship during prayer. I didn't have my eyes closed. She peeked at me and said, "You are supposed to have your eyes closed during prayer!" I had to smile. I was a little embarrassed that in her mind I was out of order and vowed to behave myself moving forward.
Closing our eyes during prayer symbolizes shutting the world out and focusing on the Lord. When we pray we want the Lord to hear us, We want to be focused in our prayers. We meditate on the Lord and His goodness. We petition Our Lord and Our God to hear the petitions we put before Him.
Close your eyes in prayer. Pause in your day to pray.
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
