" And the  Lord  turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the  Lord  gave Job twice as much as he had before."         - Job 42:10 Dear Friends, Sometimes the best thing we can do for our friends when they are going through adversity is to listen.  Job's friends sought to comfort him and in the midst of comforting they began to speculate as to the reason for his suffering.  We have to know when to be silent.  Silence in the appropriate places and times has been know to kindle and save friendships. Yet, even when silence is broken and when words are spoken out of turn a true friend will forgive and see the  love intended. " Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."    - St. John 15:14-15 Dear Friends, Jesus calls us friends.  A true friend is loyal.  A true friend looks out for your best interests. It is true that many things in the world have changed. Yet, the need for love, guidance and discipline still exists.  There is a need for encouragement.  "Good job!"  "You can do it!" Keep up the good work!"  "I care!" "I love you!" "I am praying for you!"  Positive reinforcement is needed. He surrounds us with his love and kindness through the presence of His Holy Spirit in the day time.  In the night watch  His song shall be with us to guide us through the dark places. Surrounded.  As with surround sound the abundance of God is something that is constant, overflowing. It comes at us from all directions. We can never be where God is not.
