Keep Your Eyes on the Road - Week of December 30, 2018

Psalm 17:5-6   King James Version (KJV) 5  Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. 6  I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Dear Friends, I am amazed at the many lessons the Holy Spirit has taught me while driving to and fro.  Because of my challenges with night time driving I have learned to be even more attentive to His voice.  "Keep your eyes on the road Stephanie."  Wow!  I thought, this is huge.  Of course, the expression may seem cliche in some regards.  However, when the Lord is speaking to you He doesn't speak "cliche!" His voice is clear.  My response to these words of wisdom were, "okay Lord I have my eyes on the road."   Following God's instructions have changed my driving habits.  I'd allowed myself to get distracted by all the lights.  I would sometimes panic when people passed me going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.   But God was clear: Keep

Glory to God in the Highest - Week of December 23, 2018

Luke 2:1-14   King James Version (KJV) 2  And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2  (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3  And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4  And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5  To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6  And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7  And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8  And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory

Troubleshooting... Week of December 16, 2018

2 Corinthians 4:7-9   King James Version (KJV) 7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8  We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9  Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Dear Friends, For a couple of weeks I'd been experiencing problems with connecting to the Internet.  Frustrating! The computer or cell phone would connect and then disconnect.  There were some sites I could not access.  I was determined not to be outdone.  Control Panel visits became the daily norm.  I doubted myself. Had I pushed a wrong button or unchecked a box in error. Futile were my efforts to correct the problem.  Finally, I made the necessary call to get help.  The problem could not be resolved over the phone.  Therefore, a technician was scheduled to come out.  In 30 minutes Joel fixed the problem. I needed a new modem box. I simply needed updated equi

His Name Shall Be Called... Week of December 8, 2018

Isaiah 9:6-8   King James Version (KJV) 6  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the  Lord  of hosts will perform this. 8  The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. Dear Friends, His Name shall be called Wonderful His Name shall be called Counsellor His Name shall be called The Mighty God His Name Shall be called The Everlasting Father His Name Shall be called The Prince of Peace His Name shall be called.  Go tell it on the mountain that JESUS CHRIST is born. His Name shall be called. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

We Have Heard the Joyful Sound! - Week of December 2, 2018

Psalm 89:15-16   King James Version (KJV) 15  Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound : they shall walk, O  Lord , in the light of thy countenance. 16  In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted. Dear Friends, The joyful sound is the sweet music of salvation.  It is the sound within the soul of the born again Christian filled with assurance of sins forgiven through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The joyful sound is the realization of what a profound love, love beyond measure that God bestowed for: God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son... John 3:16 cf The joyful sound is a symphonic melody that rings true throughout the Word of God.  Jesus is Our Everything.  Joyful He is.  Wonderful. Everlasting. The joyful sound is a song of comfort as the Holy Spirit reminds us that we are never alone. No, never alone. The joyful sound is one that Priscilla J. Owens wrote about over one hundred years a

My Story, My Song - Week of November 25, 2018

Revelation 15:3   King James Version (KJV) 3  And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Dear Friends, "God gave me a song that they angels cannot sing. I've been washed in the blood of the crucified one. I've been redeemed...The Lord has been so good to me.  He's opened doors I cannot see.  Sometimes when I am feeling low, no one to care, no place to go.  My Father is rich in houses and lands.  He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands."   The Lord has given each of us a song. Through Jesus Christ it is a song of hope, love, faith and deliverance.  The chords are rich with the grace and mercy of God. For those who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, Salvation is the theme.  This is true whether the title of the song is This Little Light, Amazing Grace, Jesus You're the Center of My Joy, This A

When God Teaches Bible Study - Week of November 18, 20l8

Psalm 119:64-65   King James Version (KJV) 64  The earth, O  Lord , is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes. 65  Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O  Lord , according unto thy word. Dear Friends, Sometimes it happens when you are alone in the car driving.  It can happen in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom. You can be in the midst of a crowd and feel as though you are having an out of body experience.  It can happen in a dream or even a daydream.  The experience may last seconds, minutes or longer. Wherever, you are, whatever the duration of the encounter the lesson will be unmistakable -- When God teaches Bible Study. I was having this conversation with my daughter.  God through the person of the Holy Spirit has promised: But the  Comforter , which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father  will  send in my name, he shall  teach  you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  - John 14:26 Sometimes we need lessons tha

For I Shall Yet Praise Him - Week of November 11, 2018

Why   art   thou   cast   down , O my soul? and  why   art  thou  disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. - Psalms 43:5 KJV Dear Friends, I was having a conversation with someone last week about how difficult it is sometimes for individuals who have never had mental illness to touch their lives to understand it.  More specifically many Christians find it hard to reconcile faith with mental illness, particularly depression. Yet, acceptance must come if healing is to occur.  There are many struggling and wounded souls due to a continued lack of understanding and empathy for those battling mental illness within the Christian community. If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, let me encourage you.  There is help available. Do not be afraid or ashamed to seek help. Consider the words of the Psalmist. David was perplexed regarding the state of his thoughts. Such despair spilled over to

Sometimes We Just Have to Stand Still - Week of November 4, 2018

Psalm 119:10-11   King James Version (KJV) 10  With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. 11  Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Dear Friend, Sometimes we just have to stand still.  Stand still until it is clear which direction the way the Lord want you to move. Standing still is not doing nothing.  It takes faith, it takes gumption to stand still.  Put on the whole armour and stand.  The scripture says, having done "all to stand."  When we are in what seems to be a holding pattern we must keep on serving.  The true test of our faith often comes when we are standing still.  For it is in this posture that we often face the most criticism.  "Look at her, look at him...she used to be..."  Well truth be told there are no use to be's with God.  God is accomplishing His purpose in our lives in spite of what it looks like to others.  " Don't matter what it looks like it only

Dear God - Week of October 28, 2018

Psalm 90:1-2   King James Version (KJV) 90  Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Dear Friends, Last week I found myself crying out to God and the only words I could say were  Dear God, Dear God, Dear God.  I kept uttering this petition in sequences of three over and over. Dear God.  My heart overwhelmed with both thanksgiving and with care...Dear God. Dear God, I know you understand all that my heart is speaking when I cry out to You. My cries whether audible or inaudible are not misunderstood or overlooked.  The Faithful Holy Spirit, the Interpreter is the Great Translator.  Thank you Dear God. Dear God, You are Precious to me. I praise You. I worship You. I honor you. You are Dear to me. Dear God. Dear God. Dear God. Thank you for hearing each prayer. in Jesus name.  Amen. Thou Hast Be

Nothing But the Truth - Week of October 21, 2018

John 17:16-18   King James Version (KJV) 16  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. Dear Friends, Last month I attended the 10th Annual True Woman's Conference. The conference was held in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Over 7,000 women were in attendance. The bottom line theme for the conference was TRUTH.   We were directed to focus on what it true not perceived. We were encouraged to seek God in our thinking.  The truth of God's Word should be the standard of our life. What does the Lord have to say? What is the Lord saying to me? When the Lord speaks as He does through the Bible His Word is truth.  Jesus the Living Word is the whole truth .  Nothing but the truth. Truth: I  will praise thee; for  I   am   fearfully   and   wonderfully  made : marvellous are thy works;  and  that my soul knoweth right

He Sent Out His Light and Led Me - October 14, 2018

O  send   out   thy   light  and  thy  truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto  thy  holy hill, and to  thy  tabernacles.     - Psalms 43:3 Dear Friends, I don't see well in the dark.  My vision is not great and I have been afraid to drive when the sun goes down. In recent weeks, there have been circumstances making it necessary for me to cover my fear with my faith.  The first instance was when a family member needed to get to the Emergency Room. It was dark. Love lifted me out of my bed and without fear or hesitation, I drove.  The Lord sent His light and led me. Yesterday morning, Saturday, October 13,  rain was pouring down and it was dark. I had to make another trip. I wasn't afraid but I could not see well. Remember, "the peace that passeth all understanding?" Well, Peace, was holding the steering wheel.   I prayed O Lord please help me. I cannot see.  Now where the roads were well lit by street lights I could navigate without much trouble.  How
