We Can Be Still and Know

Psalm 46 King James Version (KJV)

46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Dear Friends,

It is not easy to be still. The act of being still, trusting and waiting on the revealed will of God in our situations is a discipline.  No, it is not easy to be still but it is possible.  How is this accomplished? "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." (James 1:3) Further, "And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men this is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible."
   - St. Mark 10:27

We can be still and rest assured for:

  • God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We can be still for we know we have all the support we need.  We have a place where we can refresh and replenish.  This place is in God. We are not standing around waiting on God to show up. For He is a very present help in trouble.  God is already here.

We can be still and not fear.  Mountains may move and shake.  The waters of adversity may roar and trouble our soul. But God has provided a river, a place where we can bathe our weary soul.  The Holy Spirit, Our Comforter is  Cooling Water.

We can be still.  "Fear not stand still and see the salvation of the Lord." (Exodus 14:13 cf)  Trouble abounds yet the Lord of Hosts is with us the God of Jacob is our refuge. God makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth.

We can be still and know. Psalms 37:3-7 instructs us: Trust in the Lord and do good. Delight in the Lord. Commit thy way unto the Lord. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.  Don't fret.

Be still.  We can be still and know.  For He is God.

God bless!
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie

THANKFULLY

Philippians 1:3   “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,” Wherever you are today, I thank God for you. Family, friends and all. I thank God. I praise God for allowing our lives to intersect in some way. May this day and every day be filled with gratitude. I pray that grace and peace abound.  Let mercy and grace be multiplied. Thankfully, the Lord God has brought us, from a mighty long way. God bless✨  In Christ, Sis. Stephanie

SHIFT KEY

1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”  It all depends on how you look at it. What’s your focus? Is the picture clear or blurry? Do you need to crop the photo for a better view? A little shift in focus can be key.  Shifting the way you look at things can make a big difference.  I am looking at the shift key on my keyboard. I have options. Lower case or uppercase. Numerical or special characters. Failure to shift correctly can cause denied access because my password is not recognized. Shift is key. Some things can be better understood if we take the time to change our focus.  Zoom in on what really matters.  Stop looking at things that appear  insurmountable. Instead shift your focus. Look at God. The view is breathtaking when I look up. I see Jesus. He sees me. I am shifting my focus. Eyes lifted up. I see where my help comes from. My help comes from the Lord. The Lord who

Through the Eyes of Faith ...By Grace

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of work, lest anyone should boast.   - Ephesians 2:8-9  “Amazing grace shall always be my song of praise for it was grace that bought my liberty. I don’t know why He chose to love me so. He looked beyond my faults and saw my needs.”  So much has happened since the last time I “saw” you. The changing circumstances of the journey have been stabilized by an Unchanging God.   Journey on my sisters and brothers. Bask in the knowledge that unfailing mercy and sufficient grace surround you.   Grace makes new beginnings possible. We can begin again. The time is now. The choice? It’s yours. Yours for the asking.  Through the eyes of faith…we see Jesus.  God bless! In Christ,  Sis. Stephanie
