Listen Carefully, God is Speaking

"And God said..." - Genesis 1:3a Dear Friends, I love quotes.  Inspirational quotes, quotes about reading, quotes about courage.  I just love quotes. However, the quotes I love most of all are quotes from scripture.   What does the Bible say?  Tell me specifically what Jesus says on the subject?  What does God say?  The conversation for us begins in the book of Genesis.  "And God said" When God speaks, things happen. He spoke the word and the light appeared. By His word the sun, moon and stars came to be. He spoke the word and the waters appeared. The same God is still speaking. The sun rises and sets each day by the Word of God. We live and move by the Word of God.   Into our life the Lord speaks. He gives guidance. It is up to us to follow. Listen carefully.  God is speaking. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Our Personal, Spiritual Trainer

Proverbs 16:8 King James Version (KJV) 8  Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right. Dear Friends, Little things can make a big difference. Do not under estimate the power of a small kindness. The old saying a little goes a long way is true is true especially when it is done with the right intentions. Wealth cannot buy peace.  It cannot buy health. Nor can it buy joy. These are gifts from God. He is our Personal Trainer, Spiritual Trainer. Every once in a while it helps to stop and reflect on these things.  Jesus has promised to supply our needs according to his riches in glory.  However, when His supply meets the need but does not match our wants some folks can get bent out of shape. Stay in shape. With each exercise God takes us through He getting us fit for the kingdom.  For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

What a Blessed Memory

The   memory   of   the   just   is  blessed    - Proverbs 10:7a Dear Friends, Several of my mentors have gone on to Heaven.  One in particular, I only knew for a few years, yet the impact she had in my life was tremendous.  There were several times when I was facing a difficult situation the Lord brought her to mind.  I would be uplifted as I reflected on her many displays of kindness and encouragement. I have numerous cards, books and tapes that she gave me over the years.  Each card always contained a hand written message. The messages always arrived at just the right time.    I felt a unique kinship with Sis. Jean Mills. Because of her gift of discernment I felt a special bond with her.  Looking into her eyes I knew that she understood my journey and understood me. Through spiritual eyes she was able to look beyond my faults and challenge me to stir up the gifts within. Tonight the Holy Spirit brought my lovely mentor to mind. Through tear stained eyes, I can say, what

Father May I? Nevertheless Thy Will Be Done!

Matthew 26:38-42 King James Version (KJV) 38  Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. 39  And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. 40  And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41  Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42  He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. Dear Friends, When Jesus left glory He was aware of what His assignment was.  Each step of the way we find Him fulfilling His purpose according to the will of God.  Searching scriptures, when his parents went looking for him and found Jesus teaching in the t

The Power of a Testimony

Luke 8:39-40 King James Version (KJV) 39  Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. 40  And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. Dear Friends,    In the several verses that proceed our highlighted verses today, we find in Luke the eighth chapter the account of a man tormented by demons.  When encountered by Jesus the demons knew exactly who he was. They were cast out of the man and into a herd of swine. The man after being delivered wanted to stay with Jesus.  However, Jesus instructs him in verse 39 to return to his own house, (unto his own people) and let it be known what great things God had done for him. There is great power in testimony.   A testimony, my working definition is: the account of God's deliverance following a test. Many times ou

Immediately, Without Delay

Luke 8:47-50 King James Version (KJV) 47  And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48  And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. 49  While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. 50  But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. Dear Friends, The following is a dictionary definition for immediately: without delay without lapse of time; at once  as soon as Our Lord is the Ruler of the "right now." He is able to respond, to intervene, to construct, to design, heal and deliver without delay; without lapse of time.  He can do "ALL" immediately and at once.  He reigns in th

Great Grace

"Then said Jesus Father forgive them for they know not what they do."       - Luke 23:34cf Dear Friends, When you believe you have been offended, your reputation tarnished and are rejected for no reason can you forgive. Are you willing to forgive as you have been forgiven. Are you ready to put forgiveness in action by  extending, great grace?  Jesus Christ in His words from the cross "Father forgive them for the know not what they do" is love without measure. He who was without sin bore the sins of all and even in the midst of mockery he interceded for those who crucified him. Jesus is Great Grace. Great Grace.  Lord I thank you for Your blessed example. Help me today to walk worthy and always be ready to forgive even as I have been forgiven. Great grace. In Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Perfect Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1 King James Version (KJV) 3  To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Dear Friends, God has perfect timing.  Events that occur in our lives while we make think in some instances they are out of sync, God's way and timing is without flaw.   Today is my daughter Darci's 23rd birthday. While doctor's gave a May due date, Darci arrived in February.  Her entrance into the world planned by God.  Happy birthday Darci! There is no happenstance with the Lord.  His ways are perfect.  He has a plan for our lives. Each chapter and season is planned for us according to his Holy Will. Rest in knowing that God is in control. For  I   know   the   thoughts  that  I  think toward you, saith  the   Lord ,  thoughts  of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.     - Jeremiah 29:11 And  we   know   that   all   things  work together for good to them  that  love God, to them who are the called ac

But God!

2 Corinthians 1:8-11 King James Version (KJV) 8  For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9  But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10  Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; 11  Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. Dear Friends, Sometimes we are: pressed beyond measure (just can't take it) pressed beyond strength (load is too heavy) pressed to the point of despair (seems like hope is gone and we can't live through it) Paul is reminding the brethren of his great affliction in Asia. We are not told exactly what it was.  However, he describes how the pressu

Don't Give Up Now

Hebrews 3:14 King James Version (KJV) 14  For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Dear Friends, We are children of the Most High God. As such the joy, the anticipation that awaits us is unequaled to anything that the human mind can imagine. Preachers and teachers are responsible to stir up the gift among the believers, the Body of Christ to let them know that hope is alive. And even in the midst of the greatest turmoil, even when the newscasts report gloom and doom and impending disasters we are not to give up. Giving up is to slow our roll. Giving up is to fail to cast our nets. Giving us to lower our voices. It is to hush our praise. Giving up is to fail to show up for duty. It is not picking up our next assignment. Giving up is choosing hate over love.  It is doubting the ability of God to make the crooked straight.  We cannot give up now. Don't give up.  Don't allow yourself to be ru

Lift Up! Stretch Out! Go!

And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry [ground] through the midst of the sea .  - Exodus 14:15-16 Dear Friends. When you receive your deliverance, come out of the wilderness, experience your breakthrough, everybody is not going to be happy about it. The enemy realizing he has lost capital may try to reclaim the territory. Pharaoh let God's people go. He then got angry about it and decided to pursue after them to get them back. Many were afraid and no doubt wanted to turn back.  Moses kept crying out to God. God told Moses to tell the people to move forward. He instructed him to lift up his hand, stretch out the rod over the sea and divide it. They would then cross over. With Pharaoh's army still in pursuit the children of Israel did in fact cross the sea on dry land

If It Had Not Been for the Lord On My Side

Psalm 139:7-10 King James Version (KJV) 7  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. Dear Friends, "If it had not been for the Lord on my side tell me where would I be? Where would I be? Where would I be?  He kept my enemies away. He let the sun shine through a cloudy day. He rocked me in the cradle of His arms when He knew I had been battered by the storm."      -  Margaret P. Douroux When I look back to the many times when I tried to flee from the will of God I learned there was no hiding place.  Thank God when we do not know what is good for us He remains good to us.  There is no place we can go where He is not.  Brothers and sisters wherever we are God is.
