In the Morning When I Rise, Give Me Jesus

John 4:9-15King James Version (KJV)

Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

Dear Friends,

Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well and made a request of her water.  It appeared at the onset that His was the greater need, His thirst apparent.  What was not readily apparent was extent of her need.  It was hidden perhaps even from her.

Yet, to Jesus neither she nor her need were invisible. He could see the deep need of her soul. Her thirst could not be satisfied with a drink from a physical well.  Her thirst was for peace, truth, wisdom, hope, love, forgiveness and understanding.  She sought joy.

Jesus the Well Spring of Life was standing before her ready to quench her thirst.  Jesus is the Living Word.

The deep need of the soul, the sincere cry that will not be ignored is the cry for Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.
You can have all this world but give me Jesus.  It is my prayer that the words of the Negro Spiritual will encourage your soul today. God bless!

Help…My Help

Psalms 46:1   “God  is our  refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Help.  God is my Help. Always present…in trouble and in triumph.  Help. THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are honest , whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things.” The truth is Jesus. Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...
