The Gift of God

 Ephesians 2:8-9 - King James Version

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of

 God:  9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Salvation. It is the gift of God.  It cannot be earned.  The terms cannot be negotiated.  Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God.  Salvation comes through Him.  The grace of God provides salvation.  Christians are aware of this fact. It is good, however, to pause and reflect.  This is what I find myself doing today.  I thank God for His grace.  His grace manifested itself in so great a love for us. Grace.  By that grace He sent His Son.  Glory to His Name.  

We are saved by grace through faith.  The gift of God. It is not about us.  It is about Jesus.  Jesus, the Gift of God.  The Gift of God, Jesus.

THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

  Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are honest , whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things.” The truth is Jesus. Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...

The Journey Here

  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. - Psalms 23:4 The journey here...that is really something to think about.  Where we are in life as compared to where we had hoped to be.  Paths chosen while other were forgotten or neglected.  Decisions.  Times of indecisiveness. There were times we crawled. Too weary to walk.  We ran. We were too impatient to wait.   The journey.  Here.  That is really something to think about. For me the most difficult and sometimes debilitating aspect of the journey, has been walking through the valley of the shadow of death.  Tempted to fear due to memories of time I could have spent, conversations I should have had, hugs I wish I had given.  This type of fearful fretting is not of God.  I have learned; I am learning that if I truly believe, He is with me.  If I surely stand on His promi...
