THE LAW OF KINDNESS

 

Proverbs 31:26

“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

We were young together.

We grew up together.

I thought we would grow old together.

God had another plan.

Heaven came sooner for my sister.

My sister, Gretchen. 

My one and only sister.

It is hard to believe.

It has been eight years.

November 12, 2015.

Seems like a short time ago that we played jacks on the kitchen floor.

Then there were the times she would sing loudly.

I would ask my mother to make her stop.

This was until she hit a beautiful note one day.

I never complained about her singing again.

Her anointed soprano voice blessed many.

“Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee.

How great Thou art. How great Thou art.”

I can still hear her voice.

Gretchen left a legacy.

The fruits of the Spirit were evident in her life.

She was a kind person.

The most kind I have been blessed to know.

My life was made richer by her presence.

Even in her absence, the memory of her blesses me.
