Thank God for the Opportunity

Colossians 4:2-18 New International Version (NIV) 2  Devote yourselves to prayer,  being watchful and thankful.  3  And pray for us, too, that God may open a door  for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery  of Christ, for which I am in chains.   4  Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.   5  Be wise  in the way you act toward outsiders;  make the most of every opportunity.   6  Let your conversation be always full of grace,  seasoned with salt,  so that you may know how to answer everyone. Dear Friends, God gives us many opportunities to speak to others about the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.  As He provides the open doors, let us be ready to witness and make the proclamation clear.   How we talk and conduct ourselves is important for there are always those watching our conduct and hopefully learning from our example. Even as we have the opportunity to witness we also have the privilege to pray one for another and for those who

Our Lord, He is God in Heaven Above and in Earth Beneath

4  And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were: 5  And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them. 6  But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof. 7  And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate. 8  And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof; 9  And she said unto the men, I know that the  Lord  hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. 10  For we have heard how the  Lord  dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the tw

Be Diligent In Recalling the Mercies of God

Psalm 119:53-55 King James Version (KJV) 53  Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law. 54  Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage. 55  I have remembered thy name, O  Lord , in the night, and have kept thy law. Dear Friends, We must remain diligent in recalling the mercies of God. There are some days when my eyes overflow with tears hearing of the many atrocities taking place throughout the world.  Innocent people lose their lives.  There are random shootings.  Robberies abound.  Hate crimes and bullying seem to be on the rise.  All of this is horrible.   Yet, in the midst of the horror when we lift up the Word of God we see hope and we can be certain of deliverance. Deliverance does not always come in the way in which we desire it.  Rescue is not always evident to the natural eye.  But make no mistake, God rules the natural and supernatural.  He controls what can be seen in  the natural realm and all t

God Won't Let You Down

1 Thessalonians 5 King James Version (KJV) 5  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5  Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9  For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10  Who died

Prayer Matters

Philemon 3-6 King James Version (KJV) 3  Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 4  I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, 5  Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; 6  That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Dear Friends, Sometimes we hear people say all I can do is pray.  In actuality if you are fervently praying you are doing something that matters. Consider these scriptures: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The   effectual  fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. - James 5:16 Pray   without   ceasing . - I Thessalonians 5:17 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my  prayer . - Psalm 4:1 Prayer matters. God bless

Everything Has Changed

Dear Friends, Everything has changed.  In Jesus Christ we have newness of life.  The old man and woman are cast off and we walk in the newness of life. Walter Hawkins and the Love Center Family Choir's song "I'm Not the Same" blesses my soul every time I listen to it.   We come to Christ as we are and he effects the change in us. Praise God. Be blessed! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Master, It Is Good for Us To Be Here

Mark 9:1-5 King James Version (KJV) 9  And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. 2  And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 3  And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. 4  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. 5  And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. Dear Friends, Jesus took Peter, James and John with Him on a journey and after six day led them up and into a high mountain. To be in the presence of the Lord is to be led upward to a higher place.  Higher ground is a place where souls

Do You Hear What I Hear?

Habakkuk 2:1-3 King James Version (KJV) 2  I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2  And the  Lord  answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Dear Friends, The Prophet Habakkuk had been faithfully on his post keeping watch over God's people and pleading to God on their behalf. They were being oppressed and were suffering by the hand of the Chaldean's. Habakkuk waits patiently for an answer from God.  Once he receives a word from the Lord, he is instructed to write it out plainly so others can read it.   In this present age there are still "watchmen" on the wall.  There are preachers, teachers, evangelists.  There

God's Grace Has Made Us Free

1 Corinthians 1:4-8 King James Version (KJV) 4  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5  That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6  Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7  So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8  Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Dear Friends, I thank God for the freedom, the liberty we enjoy in Christ.  We are free to praise and worship the Lord.  We are free to testify of His goodness. Let us use our freedom at every opportunity to spread the good news that Jesus saves. God's grace has made us free. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie
