Acts 3:1-7King James Version (KJV)
3 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Dear Friends,
The Bible tells us it is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35)
I think often about what occurs in Acts 3:1-7. The man outside the temple is asking for alms, asking for an offering. No doubt, he was asking to help meet a need in his life. Peter looked beyond the physical need along with John. His response is so powerful so overwhelming that it brings tears to my eyes:
- "Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."
My Lord! The power of the response. There is no amount of money...measure of power...or offer of position that can compare to the Christ filled witness shared with another.
There is power, wonder working power in the blood of the Lamb. Whenever we have the opportunity to offer Jesus Christ to share His love we need stand up and represent.
Today. Tonight. Right now. Such as I have give I unto you...in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and WALK.
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
