Putting on the Armour Day,,,,

Nehemiah 8:9-11 King James Version (KJV) 9  And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the  Lord  your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. 10  Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our  Lord : neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the  Lord  is your strength. 11  So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved. Dear Friends, God is the God of today.  He is the Lord of yesterday. He is Lord God of  tomorrow. This day is the day that the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad. Today is the Lord's day.  He has not given the day over to unholiness.  The value of time, the twenty-four hours, to the sixty minute and seconds, th

Stay on Task...You Have a Charge to Keep

Leviticus 8:34-36 King James Version (KJV) 34  As he hath done this day, so the  Lord  hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you. 35  Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the  Lord , that ye die not: for so I am commanded. 36  So Aaron and his sons did all things which the  Lord  commanded by the hand of Moses. Dear Friends, In Exodus God had given the commandment for the consecration of Aaron.  Here in Leviticus the Lord delivers the message again, the time is now for the commandment to take place. The consecration was preformed in the presence of elders and members of the congregation.  Witnesses are often present even today at consecration services of ministers and deacons in the church. God's will, God's way.  He never leaves us wavering in the dark but gives clear direction for those who would seek His will and in addition work to carry it out. For ma

The Endurance of the Word of God

1 Peter 1:24-25a King James Version (KJV) 24  For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25  But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. Dear Friends, The endurance of the Word of God. There is never a time when the Word of God will.  Past, present and future endurance, this is God's Word.  There are no pauses, interruptions, mistakes or corrections necessary.  The Word of God endures. Staying power! For the  word   of   God   is   quick , and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder  of  soul and spirit, and  of  the joints and marrow, and  is  a discerner  of  the thoughts and intents  of  the heart.     - Hebrews 4:12 The endurance of the Word of God. Nothing can come against the Word of God and prevail. Saturation in the Word of God is the safe harbour for those who believe.  Standing firm. Unwavering. Unafraid. T

When Enough Was Enough...

Genesis 45:27-28 King James Version (KJV) 27  And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived: 28  And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die. Dear Friends, Joseph was a dreamer and was also favored by his father.  These two things caused him to be envied by his brothers.  Their jealously and its consequences are outlined below: 18  And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him. 19  And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. 20  Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. 21  And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him. 22  And Reuben s

Oh Lord My God

Psalm 30:11-12 King James Version (KJV) 11  Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12  To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. Dear Friends, "Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee. How Great Thou Art. How Great Thou Art." O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks I will praise Your name O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks At the mention of Your Name O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks When I consider the gift of Your Son O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks When I think about Your goodness O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks When I think about Your mercy O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks When I think about Your grace O  Lord  my God, I will give thanks Knowing I cannot thank You enough O  Lord  my God Great God O  Lord  my God Mighty God O  Lo

God's Word is Fundamental

Ecclesiastes 12:12-13 King James Version (KJV) 12  And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. 13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Dear Friends, I love to read.  Reading is a favorite pastime for me.  As I meditate on Ecclesiastes 12:12 I think about how that in today's society there is an extension of what we know as the book. People are reading on line viewing articles and books. There is the reading associated with facebook, instagram and twitter. There are the assigned and required readings of students and those in the work place. Yes, much study is a weariness of the flesh. But consider this: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. In all of our leisurely reading, work and school requirements, social

Wrapped in Grace...Much More by the Gift of God

Romans 5:15-16 King James Version (KJV) 15  But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16  And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. Dear Friends, Through one man sin came into the world. Sin clouded vision. It cast a shadow. It dispersed sickness, deceit and all manner of evil. But God in His excellent greatness accomplished through another man, One Man, Jesus Christ, the perfection to eradicate the stain of sin.  Wrapped in grace Jesus Christ came swaddled as a baby to offer to all who would accept the gift of grace, salvation. Ephesians 2:4-10 King James Version (KJV) 4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath

There Is A Right Way to Do Things

Romans 12:14-21 King James Version (KJV) 14  Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15  Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16  Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17  Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18  If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19  Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20  Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21  Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Dear Friends, There is a right way to do things. When you are being persecuted Bless them that persecute you, don't curse There is a right way to do things
