Leviticus 8:34-36King James Version (KJV)
34 As he hath done this day, so the Lord hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you.
35 Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the Lord, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.
36 So Aaron and his sons did all things which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.
Dear Friends,
In Exodus God had given the commandment for the consecration of Aaron. Here in Leviticus the Lord delivers the message again, the time is now for the commandment to take place.
The consecration was preformed in the presence of elders and members of the congregation. Witnesses are often present even today at consecration services of ministers and deacons in the church.
God's will, God's way. He never leaves us wavering in the dark but gives clear direction for those who would seek His will and in addition work to carry it out.
For many are called, but few are chosen. - Matthew 22:14
As children of God, servants of Jesus Christ we have a purpose to fulfill.
The hymn writer stated it this way:
A God to glorify,
A never-dying soul to save,
And fit it for the sky.
To serve the present age,
My calling to fulfill:
O may it all my powers engage
To do my Master’s will!
Arm me with jealous care,
As in Thy sight to live;
And O Thy servant, Lord, prepare
A strict account to give!
Help me to watch and pray,
And on Thyself rely,
Assured, if I my trust betray,
I shall for ever die.
- Charles Wesley
- I have a charge to keep
- A God to glorify
- A never dying soul to save
- And fit it for the sky.
We all do
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
