Forget Me Not

1 Corinthians 11:24-25 King James Version (KJV) 24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. Dear Friends, Each time we partake of the Lord's Supper we are remembering the tremendous sacrifice He made for us.  Lest we forget... in Christ, Sis. Thanks Be to God, the Morning Light Appears

Mark 4:38 King James Version (KJV) 38  And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? Dear Friends, I was having a conversation with a friend a while back about times in our lives when we refer to and "night" or "midnight".  Rough patches when we can't see our way clear and wonder just how long night will night will last.  While we do not hold time.  God does.  He holds us during the "midnight" season and speaks peace to our soul.  Although we may not know how long the night will last.  Rest assured, daybreak is coming. in Christ, Sis. A Shelter from the Storm

Psalm 91:1-2 King James Version (KJV) 91  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2  I will say of the  Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Dear Friends, It is not easy to watch those you care about struggle in life.  Friends and family who are weighed by down by life's cares.  I have heard of several occasions individuals say: "I'm just trying to stay out of the way." I have even uttered those words myself.  Life teaches you that the only hiding place the only safe place is in God.  God knows the outcome.  When we are in the midst of the storm, when the pain of rejection cuts so deeps it can seem like deliverance will never come.  The enemy would like to make us believe that there are no open doors or that our particular trouble is greater than anyone else has ever faced.  These things are true if we trust in ourselves and our own solutions.  But God offers refuge. Remember When

Psalm 137:1 King James Version (KJV) 137  By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. Dear Friends, There was a time when neighbors helped neighbors.  People looked out for each other's children.  These things were not the exception they were the rule.   People stood up for what they believed in. STANDING FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN Standing for what you believe in, Regardless of the odds against you, and the pressure that tears at your resistance, ...means courage Keeping a smile on your face, When inside you feel like dying, For the sake of supporting others, ...means strength Stopping at nothing, And doing what's in your heart, You know is right, ...means determination Doing more than is expected, To make another's life a little more bearable, Without uttering a single complaint, ...means compassion Helping a friend in need, No matter the time or effort, To the best of your ability,

When You Bow at the Altar

James 5:16 King James Version (KJV) 16  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Dear Friends, It is not easy to share our shortcomings with others.  Yet, in the Body of Christ, it is our willingness to be accountable to one another and our commitment to pray for each other that promotes health and healing. To be effectual, effective in our prayers for others we must be willing to be humble enough to be strong enough to be vulnerable and admit that we too stand in need of prayers. "It's me, it's me. It's me, O Lord standing in the need of prayer." in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

We Are Sharing

Luke 6:38 King James Version (KJV) 38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Dear Friends, Give And It Shall Be Given Good Measure Pressed Down And Shaken Together Shall Men Give For With The same measure That You Give It Shall Be Given Unto You Again in Christ, Sis. He's Got the Whole World in His Hands...

"He counts the stars and calls them all by name." - Psalm 147:4 Dear Friends, God knows what is going to be reported on the news...each disaster...each political outcome.  The Everlasting Father who counts the stars and calls them all by name is in control.  In the midst of a chaotic world that spins on what seems to be its on axis the enemy would try to make us forget who is really running things.  GOD is still on the throne.  A song from my childhood comes to mind: "He's got the whole world in His hands.  The whole world in His hands."  Bless God. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie Luke 12:1-12 King James Version (KJV) 12  In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2  For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, th

Thankfulness

"As for God, His way is perfect: The Word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him." - Psalm 18:30 NKJV Dear Friends, Thankfulness! To be thankful for life and for others...thankfulness...Thankfulness!  To be thankful for the mercy and grace of God in sending His Only Begotten Son to secure our salvation if we believe and accept the Lord as our Personal Savior.  Thankfulness!  Thankfulness!  Thankful that there is a special place, a work, an assignment for each one in the body of Christ.  Everyone matters. Everyone. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie A Special Place There is a special place in life, That needs my humble skill, A certain job I'm meant to do, Which no one else can fulfill. The Lord Stood With Me...

"But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength." - 2 Timothy 4:17 Dear Friends, Holidays can be especially difficult for those who have recently had loved ones or friends to pass away.  Even if a loved one has been gone for years, the holiday season can sometimes be difficult for many.  As Christians we are told not to sorrow as those who have no hope. But God in His infinite wisdom knows that we suffer many things in the flesh.  Time and time again the Lord proves Himself Faithful.  He never leaves us alone. The words in 2 Timothy 4:17 are so appropriate for today: "But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength."  Day by day, moment by moment and in all situations God's grace is sufficient to see us through. in Christ, Sis. In Case You Are Wondering...Nothing Escapes God's Attention

"I have heard your prayers and seen your tears; I will heal you." - 2 Kings 20:5 Dear Friends, Nothing Escapes God's Attention - sdktyus @2017 God does not miss any prayer There is not a tear He does not see It does not escape His attention When a cry goes out "Heal me!" Healing does not always come In the way or at the time that we expect Words shared  cannot always be received When well meaning folks utter "God knows best" God does know best He does not make mistakes But be reminded my sisters and brothers: God does not miss any prayer There is not one tear He does not see It does not escape His attention When a cry goes out "Heal me!." in Christ, Sis. Walking With the Lord

"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him..." - Colossians 2:6 Dear Friends, I remember when my father in-law would often remind the congregation, "you never see in the Bible where Jesus ran to do anything. He took His time."  I think about his words often.  Rev. Tyus further stated: "Christ didn't get in a hurry to do anything. He took His time." This is instructive for us.  Don't get in a hurry.  Take your time.  Read the scriptures. Search the Word. Pray first.  Listen before you speak.  Try the spirits whether they be of God. Enjoy walking with the Lord.  Take the time to enjoy the journey. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

How Much You Can Bear

"Give your burdens to the Lord and He will take care of you."  - Psalm 55:22 Dear Friends, May the words from the song by Roberta Martin: He Knows How Much You Can Bear encourage your soul today. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie He Knows Just How Much You Can Bear (Roberta Martin) (Verse) We are our heavenly Father's children And we all know that He loves us one and all Yet there are times when we find we answer Another's voice and call If we are willing, He will teach us His voice only to obey no matter where And He knows Yes, He knows Just how much we can bear (Verse) Think of the times you've asked the question Down in your heart now just what shall I do Then you confide in your friends and loved ones But they have troubles too There is a God who rules earth and heav'n In Him there's relief from every pain or care For He knows, Yes He knows Just how much we can bear

The Shining Example

"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."  - Luke 6:27-28 Dear Friends, Have you ever walked into a room and it seems as though you were engulfed by negativity and animosity.  I have.  It is not a very good feeling.  Early on I would pray and I encountered such situations, "Lord just help me through.  Let me make it to my seat."  I have learned not to wait until I enter the room to start praying.  I pray at the start of the day for the strength and courage to face whatever the Lord has planned for me.  I go into the room smiling and even if I am shaking inside, I walk the faith walk with confidence in the One I serve.  Smiling, I am speaking and praying for any enemies I may encounter.  It doesn't matter if I know who they are or not.  God knows.  It's my desire to do good.  It's my purpose to bless those who curse me.  It is my privilege to pray for those who mistreat me.  I hav

Do You Really Know How Blessed You Are?

Matthew 5:1-18 King James Version (KJV) 5  And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2  And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3  Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5  Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6  Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9  Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10  Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your

Ask and Ye Shall Receive...

John 16:24 King James Version (KJV) 24  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. Dear Friends, May the poem below offer you encouragement in your walk with the Lord.  The author is unknown to me. God bless. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie Asking And Receiving Prayer is asking God and the answer is receiving When we ask the Lord expecting and believing God can do any miracle beyond our wildest dreams even when the odds are against us, or so it seems Many things we could have if we asked so our joy would be full When we ask the Lord and receive, rich blessings will flood our soul Anything big or small God will give us when we pray in Jesus name and seek He's always there to hear our prayers and help the burdened and weak God can move any mountain with his great power and might and when things look bleak to us he can make them turn out right Nothing is too hard for God,

Casting All Your Cares Upon Him...

1 Peter 5:5-7 King James Version (KJV) 5  Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you . Dear Friends, The burdens and worries we carry are not meant for us to bear on our own.  Sometimes it is our pride that causes us to feel we have to go the distance alone. God is waiting for us to cast each care upon Him. in Christ, Sis. Stephanie Leave It There - Charles A. Tindley 1916 (Public Domain) If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold, And you have to get along with meager fare, Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird— Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. Do You Have Anything Good to Say...

Proverbs 25:11 King James Version (KJV) 11  A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Dear Friends, Words have the power to heal and destroy. The Bible say this: Death   and   life   are   in  the power of the tongue:  and  they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. - Proverbs 18:21 When we choose words that are uplifting, words that encourage and speak life to someone else we can have a tremendous impact on their day and life.  Imagine a child or teenager who only hears negative talk at home and the teacher in the classroom who provides positive reinforcement, "good job," "you have great potential!"   I think about the times when walking through the grocery store or down the street and smiling and saying hello or good morning to people I pass.  Some are genuinely shocked, especially teenagers but most smile and speak back. Taking the time to say something good means slowing down and paying attention.  And as m

Now Therefore, O God, Strengthen My Hands

Nehemiah 6 King James Version (KJV) 6  Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;) 2  That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. 3  And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? 4  Yet they sent unto me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner. 5  Then sent Sanballat his servant unto me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand; 6  Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest

Out of the Depths of My Soul...

Psalm 130: 1-3 kjv "1 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord. 2 Lord hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3 If thou shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?" Dear Friends, There are certain life chapters or experiences that lead us to crying unto the Lord out of the depths of our souls.  The depths of your soul are different from the depths of mine.  Although, similar or even the same type of experience may lead us there, the depths of one's soul is a private place. Its magnitude, the true impact of its dimension can only be understood by God and interpreted by the Holy Spirit. And it is in the Mighty Name of Jesus that we are pulled out of strongholds and given the strength to continue on. "In That Vast Dimension: Out of the Depths" sdktyus @2017 Lord in that vast dimension Out of the depths of my soul I come to Your throne with thoughts and concerns That You alone can hold There are pe

Yet Now There Is Hope

Ezra 10:1-2 King James Version (KJV) Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.   And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing. Dear Friends, The prophet Ezra prayed, confessed and fasted over the sins of Israel. He was faithful in delivering the Word of God and because of this there were members of the congregation who understand that although they had been disobedient there was still hope.   I remember years ago hearing a preacher state: "You can't get right away from God. You have to get right with God." Yet there is hope. When we find ourselves outside of the will of God becau
