Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
- Psalm 71:8
Driving home yesterday in my car I found myself in the Master’s classroom. Observing people, some with angry faces and others “madly” speeding behind or around other cars. Angry horns honking. Some drivers being “shamed “for going the speed limit.
I saw people walking, jogging, and biking. I noticed babies in strollers. I heard dogs barking and bird’s singing. Although I had seen and heard similar sights and sounds before, yesterday was different.
Do something! I heard the Holy Spirit urge me. Do what? I thought in a rather startled fashion.
The answer was immediate. Pray. Start praying. And so I did…I prayed for the people, the babies and the other drivers…
My prayers were not long. Mind you, I am behind the wheel. But God, The Holy Spirit was steering.
I found myself praying for the people who lived in the houses I passed. Soon I was praising God for the beautiful trees and green grass. I praised the Lord for beautiful flowers and mighty trees.
Praising and praying. Gospel music playing in the background. Cruise control at another level. Cruising controlled by God.
Prayer meeting in the car. What a time it was. Although I have prayed in the car before, the journey yesterday was different. I, a licensed driver, was being given a refresher course.
Joy for the journey is not a cliche. It our life when we allow the Lord to steer us.
He saw me in my little Volkswagen and reminded me that praising time and praying ground is wherever we find ourselves. I praise God for my journey now.
God bless.
In Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
