Matthew 8:20
“And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.”
As a young girl I heard a sermon where the preacher said
Jesus didn’t have a place to lay His head.
Now I am sure the preacher said more than that.
But the thought that stayed with me was that
Jesus didn’t have a house,
a bed,
or even a pillow.
At least this is the narrative I created in my mind.
I thought, I have these things.
Poor Jesus.
People are treating Him so bad.
When I went to bed that night
I slept on the edge of the bed,
on the edge of the pillow.
I told Jesus He could lay His head on my pillow.
A child’s heart.
I know the Lord remembers the “me” of yesteryears.
I came to realize that the residence the Lord seeks is a willing heart.
If we abide in Him,
He will abide in us.
A willing heart.
A place to lay His head.
God bless✨
In Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
