"But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." - Isaiah 49:14-16
Dear Friends,
I recently purchased a new printer. A couple of weeks ago the old one abruptly stopped working. I love the new printer. It wasn't very expensive. Its wireless and allows me to complete tasks more efficiently. The only issue I was having was that it seemed to take a long time to warm up. I refused to believe it was defective. I already tossed the box and sending it back would be challenging.
I imagined the Lord taking this all in. The Holy Spirit whispered "Stephanie pray about it." I did. I was then led to the control panel and realized that because I failed to delete the old printer and make the new one the default, items in the queue were misdirected. I forgot to delete. The seemingly direct command of "print" was getting jammed because of something I forgot to do.
Well, this experience got me thinking about the Control Panel God has provided for us in the Person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does not malfunction, He does not forget. He does not fail in reminding us of the faithfulness of God through the Person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is always present. While the enemy will try to isolate us to make us feel alone, we are never alone. Jesus carries us with Him and bears the burdens we lay at His feet. When we work on documents and then hit the print button we are looking for results. We want a hard copy, evidence of the work.
In Jesus the spiritual work is complete. He left heaven to accomplish the work God had assigned, Our Salvation. The birth, death and resurrection of Our Savior illustrates what happens when God says PRINT! Verse 16: "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." Talk about results!
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
