"Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his "words..." -" Luke 24:1-8
Dear Friends,
Christian gospel artist Daryl Coley recorded a song entitled "When Sunday Comes." He sings:
"When Sunday comes, my trouble gone, as soon as it gets here, I'll have a new song."
There is something about Sunday. Sunday, the first day of the week on the Christian calendar. Sunday, a new beginning. Most Christians worship on Sunday because it is the first day of the week. The Lord rose on the first day.
From a child I have looked forward to Sundays. There is just something different about the day. Sunday, a time to gather together with other Christians and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
Sunday, a time of renewal, a time of reflection and as Elder Moore one of our associate ministers preached last week, it is about restoration.
There are those that say it doesn't take all that I can worship at home on Sundays...However, I ask you to consider what the Word says in Hebrews 10:24-25:
"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
Our collective praise, our collective worship is important.
May you view Sunday with renewed anticipation.
I am a witness that there is a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit
when Sunday comes!
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
