Luke 1:39-47King James Version (KJV)
39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;
40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.
41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
Dear Friends,
Seasons Greetings! When Mary went to visit her cousin Elizabeth it was a time of celebration and even Elizabeth's unborn baby later known as John the Baptist lept for joy. It was realized no doubt by those present that a new season was being ushered in. Real hope, true peace, mighty work, the Everlasting Father would soon appear through the birth of Emmanuel being God with us. Jesus Christ would soon be born.
Today do we still marvel at the announcement of the birth of Christ? Do we celebrate the hope, the life, the miracles we enjoy due to the presence in our lives of Jesus Christ the Holy One.
Blessed are they that believe still in the miracle of Christmas and all its wonder. Do you see what I see? A star a star shining in the night? Silent night, holy night all is calm all is bright. O holy night the stars are brightly shining . It is the night of our Dear Savior's birth. Hark the herald angels sing GLORY to the newborn KING!
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
Thank you so much for posting, I love it! "And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord." Is one of my favorite bible verses!
