45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands.
- I Samuel 17:45-47
Dear Friends,
When David went out to meet the Philistine giant Goliath, he did not go dressed in great armor. He did not go with a mighty sword, spear or shield in his hand. The familiar account tells of David going with his sling slot and five smooth stones. David did was covered in faith. It was by faith he set out to meet the giant.
David marched out unashamed and let it be known that he was coming to meet the giant "in the name of the Lord." Giants fall, mountains move, enemies flee, fear disappears when we move in faith and boldly proclaim that we are facing whatever is before us "in the name of the Lord."
I declare today as David "I come to thee in the name of Jesus Christ." There is no other name that has the power to deliver. There is no other power that cannot be defeated but the Power of Jesus Christ.
"There is power, power, wonder working power in the precious blood of the Lamb."
in Christ
Sis. Stephanie
