2 Chronicles 14:11-15King James Version (KJV)
11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.
12 So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
Dear Friends,
In II Chronicles chapter 14 we meet King Asa a righteous ruler. When he came into authority he set out to get rid of the pagan gods and turn the hearts of the people back to the One True God. He was proactive in establishing an army during a ten year period of peace. During this time of peace he acknowledged and worshiped the Lord.
In verse eleven trouble comes and an army of 1,000,000 comes against the kingdom of Israel under Asa's leadership. Asa had not waited until trouble appeared to call on God. He prayed to God reverently in times of peace. Now in trouble he cried out to the same God and made his request known:
And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.
Christian Friends let the words of Asa echo in our hearts and minds today. God is the Lord of great and small. He is concerned about all that concerns us. My grandmother often said: "It don't get too big or too little that I don't go to the Lord with it!"
She like Asa realized that the only power that could move heaven and earth rested in the hands of Father God.
Rest in the truth of God's Word. In His name there is no multitude that can withstand you when you move in His strength to accomplish His will.
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
