Protecting Love: Sunday School Lesson

John 10:1-15 King James Version (KJV) 10  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2  But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3  To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4  And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5  And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6  This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. 7  Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8  All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9  I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go i

Serve the Lord Your God ...The Lord is Gracious and He is Merciful

2 Chronicles 30:8-10 King James Version (KJV) 8  Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the  Lord , and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the  Lord  your God , that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you. 9  For if ye turn again unto the  Lord , your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the  Lord  your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him. Dear Friends, Hezekiah prayed for those who were a part of the divided kingdom and had been neglecting the Passover because of their stubborn ways.  People are often stubborn because they allow pride and selfishness to get in the way.  Passover represents  mercy and in remembering Passover one is acknowledging the deliverance of God. Jesus Christ is Our Passover.  When Christians celebrate Holy Com

"Forgive as the Lord Forgave You."

Colossians 3:13-16 New International Version (NIV) 13  Bear with each other  and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.   14  And over all these virtues put on love,  which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15  Let the peace of Christ  rule in your hearts, since as members of one body  you were called to peace.  And be thankful.   16  Let the message of Christ  dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom  through psalms,  hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Dear Friends, It is one thing to talk forgiveness and another thing to extend it.  " Forgive as the Lord forgave you. "   I really needed to be reminded of this truth this week.   The week has been emotionally charged.    When emotions are high whether due to joyful or sorrowful times, we are vulnerable.  Therefore, the enemy often uses this as a prime time to atta

Do All in the Name of the Lord Jesus: In Love

Colossians 3:17 King James Version (KJV) 17  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Dear Friends, Whatsoever ye do in word or deed Raising your family Do all in the name of Jesus Whatsoever ye do in word or deed Working your job Do all in the name of Jesus IN LOVE in Christ, Sis. Stephanie 1 Corinthians 13 New International Version (NIV) 13  If I speak in the tongues [ a ]  of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.   2  If I have the gift of prophecy  and can fathom all mysteries  and all knowledge,  and if I have a faith  that can move mountains,  but do not have love, I am nothing.   3  If I give all I possess to the poor  and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, [ b ]  but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4  Love is patient,  love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not pro

Choose Not to Complain...Rather Speak Kind Words

Philippians 2:14-16 King James Version (KJV) 14  Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15  That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16  Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. Dear Friends, Sometimes the easy route is to complain...put in your two cents worth...take a spin on it...just go on and express your opinion However, the disciplined approach, the Biblical approach is to "do all things without murmurings and disputes." Stop complaining . Take the high road. Don't pour salt in the wounds.  Rather, speak kind words. That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

The Lord Is Gracious and Full of Compassion

Psalm 145:5-9 King James Version (KJV) 5  I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. 6  And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness. 7  They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness. 8  The  Lord  is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. 9  The  Lord  is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. Hallelujah Thine the Glory, Revive Us Again

Psalm 138:7 King James Version (KJV) 7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me. Dear Friends, The saying goes "trouble don't last always."  It is a true saying.  As the songwriter has penned through the life and light of Jesus Christ "our night" is scattered daybreak does follow night. The dawn of a new day brings renewed hope or so it can with eyes and a heart fixed on Christ. Let the words of the familiar hymn inspire you today. Revive Us Again - William P. McKay (Public Domain) 1 We praise Thee, O God! for the Son of Thy love, for Jesus who died, and is now gone above. Refrain: Hallelujah! Thine the glory. Hallelujah! Amen. Hallelujah! Thine the glory. Revive us again. 2 We praise Thee, O God! for Thy Spirit of light, who hath shown us our Savior, and scattered our night. [Refrain] 3

Reconciling Love - Sunday School Lesson

Romans 5:6-11 King James Version (KJV) 6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Romans 8:31-39 King James Version (KJV) 31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32  He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33  Who shall lay any thing to the
