2 Chronicles 30:8-10King James Version (KJV)
8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the Lord, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the Lord your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
9 For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
Dear Friends,
Hezekiah prayed for those who were a part of the divided kingdom and had been neglecting the Passover because of their stubborn ways. People are often stubborn because they allow pride and selfishness to get in the way. Passover represents mercy and in remembering Passover one is acknowledging the deliverance of God.
Jesus Christ is Our Passover. When Christians celebrate Holy Communion we are acknowledging the great sacrifice that was made for us by the shedding of the blood of Our Savior Jesus Christ.
"... the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him."
Serve the Lord Your God. The Lord is Gracious and He is Merciful.
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
