Colossians 3:13-16New International Version (NIV)
13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
Dear Friends,
It is one thing to talk forgiveness and another thing to extend it. "Forgive as the Lord forgave you." I really needed to be reminded of this truth this week. The week has been emotionally charged.
When emotions are high whether due to joyful or sorrowful times, we are vulnerable. Therefore, the enemy often uses this as a prime time to attack. "Let me send someone to stomp on his/her feelings, attack love wounds, slander, or just throw a bucket of junk and I'll plant the seed of unforgiveness."
If we are not diligent in watching and praying we might find ourselves in this cesspool. I had to crawl out of it this week. I had to cry and pout and beat the spiritual walls. and repent and cry and pray some more. Finally, I laid the temptation to be unforgiving at the feet of Jesus.
GLORY GLORY HALLELUJAH WHEN I LAID MY BURDEN DOWN.
I FEEL BETTER SO MUCH BETTER SINCE I LAID MY BURDENS DOWN.
"Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
