Blessings in Persecution...Joy Is in the Midst

Dear Friends,

 I sometimes hear: "I don't know why people are always bothering me, picking on me. I try to get along and be nice to everyone."  Well the truth is you do not have to bother anyone or be mean in order to become the victim of bullies or individuals who are simply angry/mean.

 While it may sound like a cliche, it is true. That's life.  But God's Word lets us know that when we are persecuted for doing right, when we are rejected unjustly, when others lie on us WE ARE BLESSED. The victory comes in living like we believe it. Challenging when stones are being thrown. It is hard to imagine thanking someone while you dodge bricks!  However, with each passing day and renewed ounce of strength you can do it.  All things are possible through Christ Jesus.

  I can say I could smile and sometimes even laugh in the midst of persecution because the I was reminded of the word of the Lord:  I am blessed in and because of such obstacles.

 "Rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is your reward in heaven."

THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...

The Journey Here

  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. - Psalms 23:4 The journey here...that is really something to think about.  Where we are in life as compared to where we had hoped to be.  Paths chosen while other were forgotten or neglected.  Decisions.  Times of indecisiveness. There were times we crawled. Too weary to walk.  We ran. We were too impatient to wait.   The journey.  Here.  That is really something to think about. For me the most difficult and sometimes debilitating aspect of the journey, has been walking through the valley of the shadow of death.  Tempted to fear due to memories of time I could have spent, conversations I should have had, hugs I wish I had given.  This type of fearful fretting is not of God.  I have learned; I am learning that if I truly believe, He is with me.  If I surely stand on His promi...
