Romans 6:3-4King James Version (KJV)
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Dear Friend,
One songwriter has penned:
Glory, glory, hallelujah since I laid my burdens down...
I feel better so much better since I laid my burden down...
Burdens down Lord, burdens down, since I laid my down...
In baptism burdens are laid down. Buried. The old self baptized into Jesus Christ, into his death. But praise God. Jesus did not stay buried HE ROSE. He rose in the newness of life. As followers of Christ, we have been raised from the dead by the glory of Father. What should we do? WALK IN THE NEWNESS OF LIFE. In Christ we have new life and by the grace of God our life is renewed day by day.
Lamentations 3:21-23King James Version (KJV)
- 21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
