We Seek Peace - Psalm 85:9-11

Psalm 85:9-11   King James Version (KJV) 9  Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land. 10  Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. 11  Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. We Seek Peace - by sdktyus@2020 We seek peace It is peace we pursue We hurry after it We pray for it We desire it in all that we do. We seek peace We seek the opportunity to understand Why all the hatred Hatred runs rampant in the land. But we seek peace On city streets, in homes, in hearts We seek peace Peace that God imparts We seek peace We cry unto Him as we know to do We seek peace Peace even after all we've been through We seek peace We follow mercy and peace We seek peace  We hunger for it  Peace with each heart beat We seek peace  In place of the tears that now fall We are pursuing it We are embracing it We hear the

Mindful - Psalm 8:3-4

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;   What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  - Psalm 8:3-4 God in His magnificent splendor created the heavens and the earth.  He took the time to hang the sun and moon in the sky.  Flowers, bird and beasts were brought into existence by His voice command.  Let there be...and so it was and so it continues.   Every morning the sun rises and in the evening sets.  The moon shines even when clouds hide its view.  Stars glitter in the sky.  Magnificent God has ordained it. As human beings we often must be prompted to render praise and offer thanks. Yet, the rest of nature is synchronized to obey.  Us? We have free will.  In the  everyday journey we must be mindful to honor God.  What a privilege we enjoy to be able to render praise.  What abundant blessings are available to us because God is mindful of each one of us.   God care

God Is in the Midst - Psalms 46:5

Psalm 46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.   The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The  Lord  of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the  Lord , what desolations he hath made in the earth.   He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.   Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exa

The Faithful Messenger - Proverbs 25:13a

As the cold of snow in the  time  of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul...        -Proverbs 25:13a My desire is to be a faithful messenger. Truthful, consistent, led by the Holy Spirit. The best formula I have found to achieve these goals, is to stand on the Word of God.  God’s Word is true, consistent and Spirit inspired.  Every word of God is true. God shields those who trust and obey. Faithful. Ordered steps. Led by God. Iniquity cannot abound.  God is the Faithful messenger. He sent us a message of love and redemption when He sent His Only Begotten Son. Jesus is The Faithful Messenger. Sacrificing His life that we might have live eternally. The Holy Spirit is the Faithful Messenger. He brings all things to our remembrance, the words of life. He instructs us in the way to go.  Refreshing! Reviving! Renewing! The Faithful Messenger. Comforting! Cleansing! Challenging! The Faithful Messengers.  The Faithful Mess

In the "What" Time - Psalms 56:3

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.”      - Psalms 56:3 In what time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.  When I am fearful, I will trust.  When I am anxious, I will trust. When I am overwhelmed, I will trust.  When I am am lonely, I will trust. I choose trust.  I chose to trust in God. In times when the way is cloudy, I will trust.  When l don't understand what is going on around me, I will trust.  When it seems as though all hope is lost, I will trust. We have a choice.  Trust in God is a choice.  The expression "faith over fear." is worth meditating on.  Faith over fear. For a child of God it is choosing to trust Him, to take Him at His word.  It is an exchange of our feelings for His grace. Sometimes I find myself getting anxious.  I feel tempted to reside in worry rather than abide in faith.  Praise God for the Holy Spirit.  He reminds me that I have a choice.  His prompting encourages me to exchange my anxiety and worry for trust in God. God

And Another Thing - 2 Peter 1:2-8

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,   According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue ; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance ; and to temperance patience ; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness ; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.       - 2 Peter 1:2-8 God has given us all we need to live a Christian live.  All the necessary tools are located in our toolbox,

Say What? Say That! - James 4:15

For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.     - James 4:15 The will of God.  It is said and true that, the safest place in the world is in the will of God.  What is God's will.  His will as revealed in His Word is not that any one perish but that all come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:8-9) The will of God.  He desires that we would have life and that more abundantly. (John 10:10) The will of God. It is a safe place.  It is a peaceful place.  The will of God. It is a joyful place.  A haven.  The will of God.  It is in Him that we live, move and have our being. (Acts 17:28) The will of God.  If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this or that. Say what? Say that! God bless! in Christ, Sis. Stephanie

Give Us This Day Lord - Matthew 6:11

“ Give us this day our daily bread. ”      - Matthew 6:11 Give us this day Lord . Grant those things that are needed in our life.  Fill our hearts with love and sincere compassion one for another. Give us this day Lord .  Help us to be patient with others and also with ourselves.  Give us wisdom that we might do as you have instucted us and be: "swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." Give us this day Lord .  Steady our focus. Clear our minds and cleanse our hearts. Let us aim to please You in all we say and do. Give us this day Lord . Feed us with Your Word that our spirits might be made strong. Nourish our bodies with sustenance that is needed to maintain health.  Teach us how to share more fully of the bounty you have given us. Give us this day Lord our daily bread. In Jesus name we pray.  Amen God bless! in Christ, Sis. If It Be Possible and Nevertheless - St. Matthew 26:39

And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. - St. Matthew 26:39 If it be possible, let this cup pass.  Jesus came to earth with a mission to fulfill.  He came to pay the ransome for the sins of mankind.  It is beyond imagination to think of all the He must have seen when He looked in "the cup." It stands to reason, however, that what He saw there was horrendous, terrible, for that it where sin leads. It leads to the horrendous and terrible.  The human nature desires deliverance.  Thus, the words: If it be possible, let this cup pass from me."  The Spirit of God, however, reigned in the words at the end of the verse.  Nevertheless,  not as I will but as thou wilt. With God all things are possible and He is able to save, deliver and secure. He always can be depended upon.  Consider Jesus.  The initial cup did not pass.  Death at calv

The Whatsoever Things - Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brethren,  whatsoever things  are true,  whatsoever things  are honest,  whatsoever things  are just,  whatsoever things  are pure,  whatsoever things are lovely ,  whatsoever things  are of good report; if there be any praise, think on these  things ." -   Philippians 4:8,  KJV The "whatsoever things" are meant to help us keep our focus. Pure.  Lovely.  Good report. Think on these things.  All around us there are reminders of the great world crisis.  This crisis, this dangerous opportunity threatens to destroy lives, erase peace, steal joy and promote fear.  The reality is that this is a disturbance of order throughout the world.  But God is still God.  He alone holds the answers to the hard questions we are faced with daily. The answers are contained in His Word. The "whatsoever things" include a beautiful flower, a star filled night sky.  A video that has gone viral of an infant child raising hands of praise in response to a mother'

Entertained Angels Unawares - Hebrews 13:2

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.  - Hebrews 13:2 I have always been fascinated by the study of angels.  I know that angels are real.  The Bible declares it.  Some years ago I read a book written by Billy Graham entitled Angels God's Secret Agents. Powerfully written, I recommend it to anyone interested in further biblically based research regarding this topic. Angels, agents of God.  Angels often sent to us by God to encourage, to warn, to protect.  Sometimes angels appear to us as strangers.  They appear, carry out their assignment and often are gone just as quickly as they appear.  No, we do not worship angels.  Yet, we should recognize that they are a part of God's Master Plan and be careful how we receive strangers. As a Christian I have had what I know were angelic visits during my lifetime. A stranger who appeared on a bus trip and spoke words of comfort until my destination was reached. Then sudden

Established by God - Psalm 90:17

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. - Psalm 90:17 Master. Architect. Father. God. Almighty God. Our Father. Good Master.  Great Architect.  Establish . Bring it about. Let Your power be known.  Beyond a shadow of doubt, let it be settled, that which is, which was and is to come has been established by You. There are situations that God brings about directly and there are those things He allows.  Whether directly seen or understood, this much should be clear,  God, not man is in control. The world and they that dwell therein, established by God.  The rain that falls on the just and unjust, established by God.  Seasons and times, established by God.  Beginnings and endings are controlled by Him. O Lord, Thou Who by thy word created the world and all within the world we pray that You would show Yourself strong. Be our Anchor in our weakness.  Plant our feet.  Steady our

Once and for All - Hebrews 10:10

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. - Hebrews 10:10 No installment plan.  No pay as you go.  No lay-a-way.  No twelve months same as cash.  The price Jesus paid for our salvation satisfied the sin debt of all who would accept Him as Lord and Savior. Paid in full. Guilt. Shame. Unbelief. Unforgiveness. Jesus paid the price for our deliverance. Once for all.  Guilt is heavy. Shame is unbearable.  Unbelief is exhausting.  Unforgiveness is unacceptable.  Once for all God the Father made a provision for our reconciliation in the person of His Son. Once for all, once and for all our liberty was secured.  The shed blood of Chirst has set us apart.  His ultimate sacrifice has made our calling and election sure. Salvation. Once for all.  Paid in full. " For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but shall have everlasting life." - John 3:1

The View From My Window - Habakkuk 2:1-4

Habakkuk 2   King James Version (KJV) 2  I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2  And the  Lord  answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 4  Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. My computer table is situated in front of a window.  The view from my window is lovely.  I can see the tall trees behind my garage.  I see the fluffy green bushes and green grass in my yard.  I hear the raindrops falling, "pitter pit, pitter pit."  I hear crickets singing.  This is the current view from my window.  It is a calming view.  It is a peaceful view, the view from my window. There

Sound an Alarm - Joel 2:1

Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain     - Joel 2:1a Scripture teaches us that there is a time to speak and a time to keep silent.  This is the time to speak. Time to sound an alarm. Time to shine the light of Christ.  The Lord is speaking.  Do you hear what I hear?  Stop.  Slow down. Take your time.  Pay attention. This this the time to speak. Time to sound an alarm. Do you hear what I hear?  Pray. Read and study God's Word. Be thankful.  Praise God. Forgive. Reach out to someone in need.  This is the time to speak.  Time to sound an alarm.  Speak peace.  Speak joy.  Love. Be kind.  Show understanding.  Have compassion. This is the time to speak! Time to sound an alarm.  Do you hear what I hear? Cry out.  Cry aloud. What should we cry?  "Come unto Jesus while you have time.  He will make your life brand new.  He will take care of you. Come unto Jesus, while you have time." God bless, in Christ, Sis. Stephanie This is the time

Praise Him for the Obvious- Psalm 42:5

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. - Psalm 42:5 "When I am sad, He makes me glad. Jesus. He's my Friend." Being a Christian does not exempt us from sadness. This may seem to be a fact so obvious that it doesn't require stating it. However, these days, the obvious can stare us in the face and we might not recognize it. Obvious? It is okay to be sad. It is okay to be frightened. It is okay to wonder about where all of "this" is going. Yet, at the end of the fear, the fright and the wonder we have a life line. His Name is Jesus. Why is my soul disquieted "disturbed?" I have a choice. I can chose to praise God and believe that He is with me and will help me. Jesus. It is clear to me. Obvious. It is plain as day. Obvious. I don't have any doubts about it. Obvious. The Lord is with me. Obvious. The Lord is my Light

The Whatsoever - Philippians 4:11-12

11  Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. - Philippians 4:11-12 KJV Whatsoever.  This place I find myself is the "Whatsoever place."  It is the place of non condition.  It is the place where trust in God abides. Trust that is not contingent on the circumstance.  The "Whatsoever Place" has been arrived at through a series of journeys.  Journeys that continue.  This place can be filled with laughter or a torrent of tears.  Being content in it is dependent on a steadfast faith in Almighty God.  It's blanket is the assurance in knowing that God is victorious in all circumstances.  He cannot be defeated.  He is my "Whatsoever place."   It is possible to be satisfied.  It is possible to abound.  It is possi

Rest in Hope - Acts 2:25-26

"For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.  Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also shall my flesh rest in hope." - Acts 2:25-26 We all get tired sometimes.  Bodies tire.  Minds may become overwhelmed.  Emotions are drained. Just tired.  Power napping may help.  Going to bed a little earlier may refresh.  Perhaps a good book, a long walk, or some relaxing music to soothe the tiredness.  Good remedies abound.   There are times however, that weariness sets in.  The exhausting presence of a weight so heavy that we go to bed with it and rise with it.  But God, has provided the solution for this. The Word of God, the presence of Christ with us. God's remedy. This is hope.  Hope in Christ.  Nothing less. There is sweet rest in Him.  Jesus keep us near the cross always mindful that your sacrifice provided our escape. May we abide in His Word. May we s

O Lord! How Great Thou Art! - Psalm 104:1

"Bless the Lord, O my soul.  O Lord my God, thou art very great, thou art clothed with honour and majesty."  Psalm 104:1 The songwriter penned: "Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee. How Great Thou Art.  How Great Thou Art." When the soul sings hearts are made glad.  A singing soul does not require even that you can carry a tune.  It only requires a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  Jesus is the Song in our lives.  He is our Hope.  He is our Peace.  He is our Joy.  Jesus.  He is the Melody,  Jesus is the Author of harmony. Jesus. A soul that sings.  How majestic it is.   The singing soul knows that in the midst of any difficulty the Great God is in control.  Consider the birds of the morning.  They burst into song by the prompting of God.  The Lord is the True Director.  At His command all of nature fills their place. Along with the singing birds there comes the rising son.  Clouds are in their place.  By the direction of God they appear fluffy
