BUT FOR A MOMENT

2 Corinthians 4:17

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”

But for a moment

Temporarily

For now

For the present

Briefly

But for a moment.  The trouble, heart ache and pain are for now. They are not here to last.  Eventually and sometimes suddenly the change happens. Trouble is in the rear-view mirror.  It is behind us.

Briefly, the suffering, the turmoil, and despair.  One day they will be things of the past.  It is true, trouble does not last always.

For now the grief is unbearable. Life has shifted.  Nothing seems familiar.  A place is set at the table.  Yet, there is an absence.

With the family gathered, we look out the window expecting to see the one whose absence has brought us together.

Gone home...so many loved ones and friends.

It is written, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

For the present there are burdens that seem too hard to bear.

Our heads may be bowed.  Our shoulders bent from the weight of all of it.

Briefly, we may feel forsaken, and we cry out.

The Holy Spirit responds.

It is but for a moment.

What?

"...our light affliction, ... is but for a moment,"

Temporarily

For now

For the present

Therefore, take heart.  Do not be discouraged.

It is "but for a moment."

God bless,

In Christ,

Sis. Stephanie

Help…My Help

Psalms 46:1   “God  is our  refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Help.  God is my Help. Always present…in trouble and in triumph.  Help. God is my Help.  I lift up my eyes knowing my help comes from the Lord.  All my help.  Every need supplied. He is My Support. He is The Solution. My Benefactor. Ever providing. Always nourishing. Constantly replenishing. Help. God is My Help. God bless. In Christ, Sis. Stephanie

THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are honest , whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things.” The truth is Jesus. Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...

Believing God

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform  it  until the day of Jesus Christ:” Preparing for the next chapter. Cleaning the clutter inside and out.  Reevaluating priorities.  Seeking a revival.  Believing God.  Slowing down a bit.  Focusing on spiritual wellness.  Taking care of my business.  Exercising faith.  Believing God. Stopping to view the sunrise.  Appreciating the sunset.  Planting flowers.  Picking some… Believing God.  Being thankful.  Being kind.  Being… Just being. Believing God.  God bless. In Christ, Sis.
