Job 6:24King James Version (KJV)
24 Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
Dear Friends,
When everything is going okay the well wishes of our friends and family are welcome. In times when we find ourselves perplexed, wise words that uplift us are welcome also. However, when folks are just spouting their personal opinions and not giving sound advice this can add to our burden.
Job found himself in a time when a close friend Eliphaz was doing a lot of counseling but Job was not finding comfort. Job's soul cried out to be taught. He wanted to understand the nature of his circumstances and how he should conduct himself. The cry for instruction went beyond his friend. This type of "wailing for knowledge" is a reach for God Himself.
While not many can say they have encountered the level of Job's suffering. We do know suffering. We have felt it in our own lives or observed it in the lives of others. There is a suffering that takes us beyond the realms of our human belief to that place called faith. I am witness that the Lord meets us there when we reach out He reaches back.
I have cried teach me Lord through grief, through unspeakable emotional pain and through walking through "valleys of shadows" of those close to me. I am still learning that it is best to ask God to teach "me" in each situation.
There is a Master Teacher but there is no master class. There is no one size fits all to life. There is a time to speak and a time to keep silent. There is a time to move and a time to stand still.
How can we know how we should walk, talk and behave on this journey except the Lord teaches us. Through suffering Job was taught by God himself. The Almighty God who asked: "Hast thou considered my servant Job?"
Wherever you are, whatever you are facing know that the Master Teacher has a plan for you.
Just ask in faith: "Teach me thy way, O Lord."
in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie
