What's Love Got to Do With It? Everything?

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profiteth me nothing. Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.  And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."      - I Corinthians 13

Dear Friends,

Intelligence is not enough. Good works are wonderful but no brownie points are given for them.  Faith is necessary but alone it does not get the job done. Feeding the poor visiting the sick, attending church should be manifestations of our faith yet standing alone their value is negated if a key ingredient is missing.
Love.

The Bible teaches us that God is love.  Love is what keeps us accountable.  Love sets the record straight.  Love keeps the motive pure.  Love started the journey.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16  Love is the key!

Love.  We have forgiveness through Christ.  Forgiveness has been provided through the sacrifice of a Loving Savior.

What's love got to do with it?  Everything!  Why are you helping your neighbor? Is love the motivation?  Why are you going to church? Choir Rehearsal? Serving on multiple ministries? Doing outreach? Paying tithes? Doing visitation? Is your love for Christ your motivation?    I Corinthians 13 instructs us. All that we do profits nothing if it is not done in love.  What's love go to do with it?   Everything!

Faith! Hope! Love! These three.  The greatest of these is love.

"Love lifted me. Love lifted me. When nothing else could help. Love lifted me.
Love lifted me.  Love lifted me!  When NOTHING else could help LOVE lifted me!

in Christ,
Sis. Stephanie

Adds Up…

2 Peter 1:5   “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;” One of my hobbies is making yarn wreaths.  The wreath frame symbolizing an unbroken circle and an eternal hope. Help…My Help

Psalms 46:1   “God  is our  refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Help.  God is my Help. Always present…in trouble and in triumph.  Help. God is my Help.  I lift up my eyes knowing my help comes from the Lord.  All my help.  Every need supplied. He is My Support. He is The Solution. My Benefactor. Ever providing. Always nourishing. THE WHAT AND THE SOEVER

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things  are honest , whatsoever things  are  just, whatsoever things  are  pure, whatsoever things  are  lovely, whatsoever things  are  of good report; if  there be  any virtue, and if  there be  any praise, think on these things.” The truth is Jesus. Honestly. This is a fact. Scripture declares Him to be. The Way, the Truth, the Life. His ways are holy and just. His Word is pure. He is altogether lovely. Focusing on the whatsoever things is to abide in the peace of God. Thoughts centered on bountiful blessings. Determined to dwell on the goodness of God rather than the constant chaos perpetrated by the enemy of our souls. The What is also the Who.  He is the King of Kings. He is the Lord of Lords. Matchless in power and might. He is the Faithful and True. He holds the balance in His Hands. God weighs the intent of the heart. True Hones...
