"Give us this day our daily bread." St. Matthew 6:11
How are you doing today? Depending on what is going on in our lives the answer to that question may vary. I know that some Christians answer "blessed" when asked the question. I understand the answer. I am blessed. I am enjoyed God's blessing even on days when I am feeling frustrated and things may be out of sync. I have learned however, that the answer to "How are you doing today?" is directly linked to "What are you doing today?"
Are you trusting that God will indeed provide all that you need today. Remember, He did yesterday and the day before. We can trust that He will "give us this day our daily bread."
The bread that we need is the the bread He supplies. His word is always set at the table for us to enjoy. He is the Bread of Life.
How are you doing today? Psalm 37:3-8 gives us guidance in what to do:
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
God bless!
