Faithful



January 1, 2013

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." - Lamentations 3:22-23


A songwriter has penned, "All I have needed thy hands have provided, great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me."  Faithful!  God is faithful.  And it is because of His faithfulness we find ourselves experiencing the first day in a new year, 2013. 

The writer in Lamentations 3:22-23 gives us a perspective that both serves as reminder and an encouragement for moving forward in 2013.  God's compassion and his mercy will sustain us throughout the coming year on the mountaintops and in the valleys.  He is faithful.

My daughter asked me if I had any resolutions.  I told her my desire was to become closer to God and to do better this year than last year... 

I started with a couple of Bible reading plans some are topical and one is a read through the Bible in a year.  For those looking for a good electronic Bible source that provides plans I recommend

Just a minute. Things happen. Situations change. Here one minute and gone the next.  So the saying goes. Moments. They mater. While we have time… Take a second. Press pause. Stop.  Consider. I’ll Go With You

  Isaiah 41:10   “Fear thou not; for I  am  with thee: be not dismayed; for I  am  thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” “Jesus said if you go I’ll go with you.” Butterflies in my stomach  A racing heart  I do not want to attend the meeting  I wish I could cancel the appointment  I don’t want to talk about it Over “it” I don’t think I can do this  BUT GOD He reminds me that of course, I cannot accomplish even the most mundane tasks on my own  He assures me day by day that He is with me  He builds me up He orders my steps  He speaks peace to my soul  He renews my heart  Do not be afraid  You belong to Me I’ve got you I am holding you in My mighty hands  Go!
